Chawama Divine Center (CDC) launched the Children With Disabilities Program on Monday, 28th April, 2025 aimed at restoring dignity, unlocking potential and fostering hope for children living with disabilities in Chawama Compound.
Speaking at the event, Semba Chimbalanga who is the Chairman for Semba Chimbalanga Foundation welcomed the initiative and thanked Madam Grace for the admirable and commendable job she has been doing at CDC.
Brenda Njemba, a parent to one of the children with a disability pointed out that Chawama Compound has no special school for such children and she humbly requested that this program should be supported fully. Some mothers to these children have been abandoned by their spouses and face stigma from family members and the community she added.
Sarah Banda, one of the children who stays at the center shared her experience living at CDC and requested for support through this journey which is a deep investment in humans.
As Nets Legends Basketball Team, it is an honor to be part of this initiative which is crucial in shaping a brighter future for these children.
