You really have to feel for Mwenya Chibwe 💔⚽

The Goalkeeper made the move from South Africa 🇿🇦 to ZESCO United 🇿🇲 last summer with clear ambitions — to increase his chances of breaking into the national team and to feature in CAF Confederation Cup football.

But things didn’t go as planned. After signing for ZESCO United, Chibwe was not registered and was later sidelined without a clear explanation. For close to five months, he didn’t kick a competitive ball , a frustrating period for any player trying to grow his career.
Eventually, he made the tough decision to return to South Africa, where he was signed by Orbit College. His debut, however, turned into a nightmare.

Thrown straight into action against one of the best teams in the country, Chibwe was eager to prove himself. Unfortunately, his outing was cut short after he made a costly blunder that resulted in a goal, and just minutes later, he picked up an injury, bringing his debut to a premature end.

Football can be cruel. From hope and ambition to setbacks and heartbreak this is a reminder of how quickly fortunes can change in the game. Wishing Mwenya Chibwe strength and a strong comeback 💪
