In Zambia, we are very quick to talk about people when things are not going well, when they make mistakes or when they fail. But today, I want to do something different appreciate someone who is doing her job well.

I want to take a moment to appreciate Christina Zulu, Head of Communications at the Zambian Premier League (ZPL).

Your work, professionalism and the way you handle your responsibilities deserve recognition. Communication is not always an easy job, especially in football, where there are so many opinions, expectations and pressure from different stakeholders.

Today, I simply want to say well done, Christina. Keep up the good work. 👏🏾⚽🇿🇲

Sometimes, people don't need to wait until they are gone or until they make a mistake for us to recognise their contribution.

Let's learn to appreciate people while they are still doing the work.

Keep going! 🙌🏾

Now, the young midfielder is playing for Jumulo FC in the National League, and he continues to progress well. 👏🏾

The journey is just beginning. Let’s wait and see what the future holds for this talented young midfielder. 🇿🇲⚽ I will keep updating you.

Welcome vs Chawama United What Really Happened

The first half was played well and ended 1:1 without any major problems. However, things turned ugly just as the second half was about to begin.

According to what happened at the game in Chilundu, Chawama United’s goalkeeper tried to place his towel near the goalpost. Some Welcome supporters objected to this. One supporter allegedly poured alcohol on the goalkeeper and began manhandling him.

When Chawama United players saw what was happening, they rushed over to intervene. That quickly escalated, with stones being thrown and supporters getting involved in fights with players.

The referee eventually decided that the match could not continue because there was not enough security to guarantee the safety of the players and officials.

This is not football. This is unacceptable.

Supporters have every right to support their teams passionately, but attacking players, throwing stones and starting fights cannot be tolerated. We should never allow football to become a place where players fear for their safety.

FAZ and football authorities must take incidents like this seriously and hold those responsible accountable. Clubs whose supporters repeatedly engage in violence should face serious consequences.

We want competitive football, not violent football. Let’s protect the game, the players and the supporters. Violence must stop. 🏟️⚽

FAZ, PLEASE TAKE SERIOUS ACTION!
Today the game between Chawama united vs Welcome couldn't continue due to fighting incidents.
Ku Chirundu, Kwa George, Chainda, Chibolya, Misisi and elsewhere is becoming deeply concerning. Fans, players and families should never have to be afraid to attend a football match because of violence.

We need to protect the beautiful game before things get worse. Are we waiting for someone to lose their life before serious action is taken?

FAZ must investigate incidents thoroughly and hold clubs, players, officials or supporters responsible where wrongdoing is established. If necessary, clubs whose supporters repeatedly engage in serious violence should face strong disciplinary measures, including suspension or removal from competitions in accordance with the rules.

Football should bring communities together, not turn them against each other.

If this continues, parents may eventually become afraid to allow their children to play football and that would be a terrible loss for Zambian football.

Let’s act now. Let’s protect our players, our fans and our children. There is NO ROOM for violence in this beautiful game called football. ⚽🇿🇲
