FULL-TIME RESULT β ABSA CUP: QUARTER-FINALS
Red Arrows advance to the semi-finals after flying past Play It Forward
Red Arrows delivered a commanding performance to secure their place in the semi-finals of the ABSA Cup, comfortably overcoming Play It Forward in an entertaining quarter-final clash.
The Airmen showed their top-flight quality from the outset, controlling possession and dictating the tempo against a spirited Play It Forward side that battled bravely but ultimately fell short.
Red Arrows wasted little time asserting their dominance, carving open the opposition defense with quick passing combinations and clinical movement in the final third. Their breakthrough came after sustained pressure, as they capitalized on a defensive lapse to take a deserved lead.
Play It Forward, refusing to be overawed by the occasion, responded with moments of attacking intent and nearly found an equalizer, but their efforts were denied by a disciplined Arrows backline and sharp goalkeeping.
As the match progressed, Red Arrows tightened their grip, showcasing experience and composure. Their ability to transition quickly from defense to attack proved decisive, and they added to their tally to put the game beyond reach.
Despite the defeat, Play It Forward can hold their heads high after a commendable cup run, having tested one of the countryβs top sides and gaining valuable experience on a big stage.
For Red Arrows, the victory reinforces their status as serious contenders for this yearβs ABSA Cup title. With momentum on their side, they now turn their attention to the semi-finals, where tougher challenges await.
