Chibambo fails to reach agreement with Kascol Rangers
Chibambo says he cannot bring sponsors to run a club with people who do not understand or believe in the project.
Here is what he had to say:
“The love I have for this team has, for some time, let me down. This is not the first attempt I have made to try and help this team become recognised. I was trying to help even before the sponsors pulled out, but the same people remained quiet.
Football development is not just about who knows football. It is also about networks, and building those networks requires a track record. You can say, ‘I want to start a team and sell players abroad,’ but is it really that easy?
It requires trust. People abroad trust former footballers who have knowledge and experience because they understand the football business not just football talk.
I can present my project, but taking players abroad is not something you can do like a flock of birds. My friends abroad trust me because they know my playing career and what I was capable of.
So, I am no longer going to push it. I am waiting for feedback from another team. I hope now Mazabuka can understand why I have not been able to help develop sports there. Very few people understand what I am trying to do.
At this point, I see no position or role that I can play to help Kascol Rangers.
I wish the team all the best.”
