Yeyani is not just a footballer, she is a proverb in motion.
From Nyagala village, Ward 14 in rural Hwange, every trip to school was 9 kilometres there and 9 kilometres back, 18 kilometres a day.
Training starts at 2pm. It meant she would always get home later than the other girls. But tired legs did not kill a strong heart.
She joined YSSA in Grade 6. She did not walk straight into the senior team. She waited. She worked.
In Form 1, she went on tour to Bulawayo. That was the turning point. The village girl saw the city, and the city saw the village girl.
In 2024, life changed. Maningi Youth Soccer Academy came for a week-long exchange in Makwandara. Yeyani and two other girls were picked for trials in Harare.
Imagine it - the long bus from rural Nyagala to Harare, full of fear and hope, not knowing what lies ahead.
She didn't just trial. She was signed INSTANTLY getting an opportunity to play in the Zimbabwe Women's Premier League - the highest level in the country.
The whole village celebrated. History was made.
In 2025, she was voted Player of the Season.
In 2026, another door opened - a scholarship to do her A-Levels in Masvingo.
