Dear Team Reps, Valued Stakeholders

On behalf of the entire SWVL Board, I wish to extend my deepest and most sincere gratitude to the whole SWVL family for the overwhelming support shown during the funeral of our dear brother, colleague, and friend, Shady.

Losing Shady has been a very difficult and painful experience for all of us. He was not only a fellow banker, a volleyball enthusiast, and a leader, but above all, he was a brother whose passion and love for the game brought us together in ways we will always cherish. The past days have reminded us of the strength of our community, and it is only fitting that we pause to acknowledge the love, unity, and solidarity that was displayed.

I would like to especially recognize our Executive Chairman and his team for their tireless efforts in making sure everything was well coordinated. Your leadership, sacrifice, and willingness to serve during such a challenging time reflected the true spirit of family and love. Because of your efforts, we were able to give Shady the befitting send-off he so greatly deserved.

To all the teams, players, coaches, and supporters who came through whether in person or in spirit to pay your last respects, thank you. Your presence was not only a source of comfort to the family, but also a true reflection of the love and respect Shady earned from all corners of the volleyball fraternity. The way the SWVL community stood together during this difficult time is a testimony to the strong and united family we are building.

As many of you know, Shady served diligently on the SWVL Board as Marketing and Public Relations Member. In that role, he worked tirelessly to grow the visibility of our league, to promote our brand, and to ensure that the values of unity and love shone through everything we did. His efforts laid the foundation for the recognition and respect SWVL now commands within the wider volleyball community in Zimbabwe. He was a visionary, always pushing us to think bigger and to tell our story with pride. His contributions in this space will forever be part of his enduring legacy.

As we reflect on Shady’s life, let us take inspiration from him. He believed in unity, he believed in vision, and he believed in the power of community. Even when the odds were against us, he encouraged us to push forward, to build, and to dream bigger. That spirit must not die with him. Instead, let us honor his memory by carrying forward his vision by fostering love among ourselves, supporting one another both on and off the court, and continuing to grow this league into something greater than ourselves.

Shady leaves behind a legacy that will forever be part of SWVL. Let us ensure that the seeds he planted continue to bear fruit, and that this community remains united not only in moments of loss, but in every step of our journey ahead.

Once again, thank you all for the love, support, and solidarity you have shown. May the Lord bless you all, and may we continue to stand together as one SWVL family.

- UZ Wolves defeated the deffending champions Green Buffalo from Zambia with a score of 3-1
