The race was an exciting and refreshing experience, welcoming new talent to the scene while our Club Director once again led from the front.
Join us in celebrating our impressive team, who graced the podium in various race categories:
1. Melody Chikonzi picked up right where she left off, clinching 5th position in the Women’s 25 km Open category.
2. Tanaka Shereni – an upcoming and promising new addition to our ranks – came 3rd in the 10 km Junior category. Tanaka is 17 years old.
3. Anesu Webber Chihwayi, another impressive new talent from the Eagles stable, secured 7th place in the Men’s 25 km Open category and also graced the podium.
4. Naboth Kamchila is our latest "product" from the Eagles pressure cooker, clinching 2nd position in the 10 km Junior category. He achieved this feat at a pulsating pace with ultimate composure – a telling preview of the dynamos emerging from the Eagles brand.
5. Leading from the front, Club Director Mendisa Moyo – no stranger to the podium – came 2nd in the Women’s Veteran category of the 25 km race.
We are truly exalted by such achievements at Eagles. Beyond the podium, we continue to nurture and groom local talent into reputable elite runners, with many having made their breakthroughs using Eagles as their launchpad.
To us, that is no mean achievement.
We will keep identifying raw local talent and grooming it into internationally acclaimed athletes – right under our tutelage at Eagles Running Club.
We fly!

The recent achievements by the Eagles duo of Owen Slowly and Ethel Sibanda Pangiso at the recently concluded Old Mutual Marathon, held on 8 February 2026, reaffirm that Eagles Running Club is indeed the home of champions!
At the HAC Old Mutual Harare Marathon, Eagles Running Club was represented by its elite runners: Owen Slowly, Ethel Sibanda Pangiso, and Roland Chitokwindo.
Owen Slowly secured second place in the men’s 42km category with a record time of 2 hours 20 minutes, while Ethel Sibanda Pangiso crossed the line in second place in the women’s category with a time of 2 hours 56 minutes.
As true testament that these achievements were no fluke, the same runners had previously ascended to the podium at the HAC Nyaradzo Memorial Run on 25 January 2026, where they both finished second in their respective categories of the 32km race.
Meanwhile, our very own Roland ‘Rols’ Chitokwindo provided leadership and motivation as he guided a group of runners to the finish line by driving the 4:43 ‘Bus’, which completed the marathon in an impressive 3 hours 19 minutes.
The idea behind the ‘bus’ is to promote a spirit of togetherness, motivation, and upliftment, as runners move together at the same pace, cheering each other on and singing along—truly inspiring!
Join us in saluting these champions as we edge closer to our ultimate goal of producing our very own Olympian at Eagles Running Club.
