The airline’s initial fleet of four B707s and two Viscounts was phased out in 1984-85 when it acquired three new B737s and two B767-200ER. The B737s, complemented by a BAe 146, took over domestic and regional routes. The airline added three more aircraft to its fleet the MA60s which were acquired from China in 2005. Air Zimbabwe’s proud history hinges on its enviable safety record, the exceptional skills of its pilots and engineers as well as its fairly strong cabin service. The airline has a comprehensive technical and engineering base which holds approvals from civil aviation authorities of several countries in the region and beyond – which mean our engineers can do third party work for both the domestic and external markets. Air Zimbabwe also runs Technical and Commercial Training schools at its headquarters which offer ticketing, cargo handling, aircraft engineering and pilot technical courses. Subsidiaries: the airline has five subsidiaries, namely. Galileo which offers reservations facilities to travel agents in the country. NHS handles passenger and cargo view www.nhszim.com.
