One of my clients sent me this after doing a few coaching sessions with her around positive discipline.
My model calm - connect - correct is exactly this. When children have high emotions, they need to calm down and then connect (all emotions are OK). Only then you can correct (NOT all behaviour is OK!). If you correct before, your child will not even hear it, as their emotions overtake and they can't think clearly.

Getting ready for the new school year starts before the first bell rings โจ
I loved spending time with teachers and teacher assistants at Little Feet Preschool and Chisipite Junior School, working on
๐ building respectful, structured classroom environments
๐ fostering positive behaviour from day one
From small preschool settings to large school teams, the focus was the same: helping adults feel calm, confident, and prepared so children can feel safe, supported, and ready to learn.
Starting the year with clear expectations, strong relationships, and practical tools makes such a differenceโfor teachers and children.
Grateful to work with such committed teams before the school year begins ๐ฑ

Be Curious, Not Furious @ Ruzawi School
Iโm grateful Ruzawi invited me back for a workshop on Be Curious Not Furious โ itโs always a pleasure working with such engaged and reflective teachers and school leaders.
I love making these workshops interactive so teachers can pause, think about their own practice, and learn from one another. Meaningful change happens when we share, reflect, and grow together. ๐

Kind. Connect. Firm. Guide.
These four words are what I hope every parent carries from my workshops and coaching sessions. ๐
Which one speaks to you the most today? ๐

The difference between threats and boundaries. You achieve the same behaviour, but in very different ways!

When One Is Strict and the Other Gives Inโฆ
Many couples fall into this pattern โ one parent is strict, the other lenient. But that can be confusing for children.
Finding a balanced, authoritative approach makes life calmer and clearer for everyone. ๐
Get in touch if you would like to learn how.
