‎HARARE - Thursday 1 October 2026
‎
‎The Zifa report card after the Warriors vs DRC match, a game played on CAF temporary licence (match by match terms) gave Nqobile Magwizi and his useless Exco, a fair valuation, indicative that Egypt headquartered CAF, may overlook the fatality caused by police outside the stadium and avoidable pitch invasion post match, The Page can reveal.
‎
‎The report seen by The Page, whose detail is also critical in enabling the government and FA to complete the renovation, as CAF officials in Harare on Monday evening, said they will not come back for inspecting an incomplete edifice.
‎
‎The FIFA and CAF use the same inspection sheet, which they call "11 key operational areas" every host must tick before a stadium is homologated for senior international matches.
‎
‎1. Safety and Security
‎Risk assessment, police deployment, stewards, private security, CCTV, control room / Venue Operation Centre, airport to hotel to stadium movement plan. Must have safety and security meetings before every match. 5/10
‎
‎2. Pitch and Surrounding Areas
‎Smooth (NSS bumpy and uneven in areas), level, 100-110m x 64-75m, drainage so it cannot flood, spare goal, warm-up area, advertising boards set back. Natural grass or FIFA licensed turf. 5/10
‎
‎3. Floodlighting
‎1,500-2,000 lux for match, 500 lux minimum for training grounds, plus backup generator that can carry full stadium load. On the night of the match it read 1750 lux, a huge jump from the Scottland v Nsingizini match 8/10
‎
‎4. Power Supply and Backup
‎Two independent sources, plus uninterrupted broadcast power for OB vans and giant screens. 8/10
‎
‎5. Teams and Match Officials Facilities
‎4 dressing rooms with showers/toilets, direct protected access from team bus, players medical room 20m2 in tunnel, doping control room, benches, ball kids rooms. 7/10
‎
‎6. Medical
‎2 ambulances with AEDs at stadium, plus 1 backup, unrestricted access to tunnel and dressing rooms, designated hospitals within 15 min with 24hr A&E, cardiology, orthopaedics, radiology, ICU. No media allowed in the medical zone. 7/10
‎
‎7. Spectator Facilities and Accessibility
‎Capacity, sightlines, safe entry/egress, ticketing and electronic access control, first aid, toilets, concessions, facilities for disabled fans, evacuation gates. Reported failures of electronics damaged everything leading to a fatality 4/10
‎
‎8. VIP/VVIP and Hospitality
‎Separate entrance, parking, lounge, interview area, bodyguards room. Poor management of the section cost marks 5/10
‎
‎9. Media and Broadcasting
‎Media tribune, commentary positions, media centre, press conference room, mixed zone, flash interview positions, photographers positions, secure OB compound 4,000m2 (6,000m2 for semis/final), 20 HD cameras, high-speed internet. No connection to requirements as fans with ticket sat with media - a no no 2/10.
‎
‎10. Communications and IT
‎Telephones, internet, telecom connectivity in all operational rooms, stadium announcer and giant screen rooms, accreditation centre.
‎
‎Horrible stadium announcer who seemed clueless and out of touch was complemented with coughing internet and atrocious communication from Zifa hub, where Mike Madoda is the figurehead. 2/10
‎
‎11. Logistics and Support Infrastructure
‎Training sites — 2 per host + 1 reserve, with floodlights, dressing rooms, secure fencing, controlled entrances; proximity to international airport (max 200km), hotel standards, transport, parking for teams/officials/media/emergency vehicles and helipad. 6/10
‎
‎If a host fail one of the 11, you get conditional approval or you play at Oded Itani Chilume or Moses Mabhida or Heroes Stadium.
‎
‎That's why Sierra Leone, CAR, Madagascar were in Morocco this window and Equatorial Guinea were in Cameroon— pitch, lights, dressing rooms and security not met.
‎
‎Meanwhile, Magwizi for all his weaknesses, is the only Exco member doing everything to ensure football return to normalcy.
‎
‎You don't have to like him, (I actually don't) to know that he can't be everywhere to fix things, but the rest of his Exco and CEO are not only incompetent but useless.
‎
‎The Zifa Exco's appetite and passion is only for a royalty that they don't deserve.
Imagine a certain Alice Zeure, confused and unappealing looking important in constructed confusion in the VVIP section.
‎
‎None of the other 10, will remain after the 2028 elections. If Magwizi begs, on passion alone, can be retained in office. Bookmark this.
‎
‎They are all failing the audition wonderfully so far, even Ken Ndebele, with all his experience, knows that.
‎
‎A support to the bird is only meaningful, if it is provided before it has lost the ability to fly.
