Popular Zimdancehall artist Shinsoman has landed in police custody after being arrested in Harare over an alleged violation of the Medicines and Allied Substances Control Act (MASCA).

According to reports from H-Metro, the musician was apprehended by detectives from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Drugs and Narcotics Unit and is currently being held at Harare Central Police Station.

Bulawayo Man in Court After Allegedly Attacking Child He Claimed Was a Goblin
A 38-year-old man from Bulawayo has been brought before the courts after allegedly assaulting a young neighbour, claiming he believed the child was a goblin.

Senzile Nyathi, of Mabutweni suburb, appeared before Western Commonage magistrate Jeconia Prince Ncube facing a charge of attempted murder. He was remanded in custody and is expected to return to court on 8 January.

According to court documents, the incident occurred on Christmas Day at around 10pm. The complainant, a juvenile, was reportedly playing in an open area close to his home when Nyathi approached him.

A Kenyan national who remained in Zimbabwe beyond the срок of his visa and posed as a traditional healer to defraud residents in Bulawayo has been fined US$300 by the courts.

Henry Odour Mwedia (48) appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Themba Chimiso, where he was charged under Section 36(1)(h) of the Immigration Act for failing to comply with the conditions of his entry permit.

Mwedia pleaded guilty and was convicted. The court ordered him to pay the fine by 31 December 2025, failing which he will serve four months in prison.

Three Soldiers Appear in Court Over Alleged Robbery Spree in Fort Rixon
Bulawayo — Three members of the Zimbabwe National Army (ZNA) have been arrested and brought before the Bulawayo Magistrates’ Court in connection with a series of violent robberies allegedly committed in Fort Rixon while they were dressed in military uniform.

The accused, Iphithule Mlotshwa (24), Hamlet Mlotshwa (21) and Haulezwe Mlotshwa (25), appeared before magistrate Shingirai Mutiro, facing several counts of robbery.

According to prosecutor Nkanyezi Xaba, the incidents occurred on 24 December, when the trio allegedly descended on the Claremont mining area armed with axes, knives, electric shock devices, handcuffs and torches.

The court heard that the suspects allegedly forced their way into the bedroom of Qondisani Moyo, where they assaulted and handcuffed him before stealing US$2,800.

Social media figure David Nhunzva has demanded that the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) retract their recent statement and issue a public apology, saying allegations that he produced misleading AI-generated content are untrue and harmful to his reputation.

On Thursday, 25 December 2025, the ZRP released a statement requesting Nhunzva to present himself at the CID Law and Order unit in connection with claims that he created and shared deepfake material aimed at discrediting the police. Authorities said the alleged content contravened the Cyber and Data Protection Act (Chapter 12:07).
