ZIMSPORTS4ED Throws Weight Behind Constitutional Amendment Bill # 3, Hails Move to Redirect Campaign Funds to Sports Development
HARARE – In a resounding show of support for the ongoing legislative reforms, the *Zimbabwe National Sports Promotion for Economic Development (ZIMSPORTS4ED) has officially endorsed Constitutional Amendment Bill Number 3 , praising its potential to harmonize the nation’s governance framework with international best practices.
The organization issued a statement today declaring itself "100% behind" the Bill, emphasizing that the proposed changes are critical for streamlining the architecture of the country's governance. According to *ZIMSPORTS4ED* , the amendments align Zimbabwe’s constitutional standards with those observed across the SADC region and the broader global community, marking a significant step toward modernizing the state’s operations.
Beyond the structural realignment, the organization highlighted a crucial socio-economic dividend embedded in the Bill. ZIMSPORTS4ED noted that the proposed amendments are designed to eliminate what it described as the "mode of electoral toxicity," thereby reducing the financial temperature of political contests. This shift, the organization argues, will unlock vital resources that are typically consumed by protracted and expensive electioneering.
“The resources that would have been burned on negative campaigning can now be channeled toward tangible development,” the statement read. ZIMSPORTS4ED envisions a scenario where these funds are redeployed to the sports sector, facilitating the construction of modern infrastructure and the nurturing of young talent in an environment characterized by political and economic stability.
The organization framed this potential redirection of funds as a direct contribution to the country’s long-term economic blueprint, Vision 2030, which is championed by President Dr. E.D. Mnangagwa . By fostering a stable environment through constitutional reform, *ZIMSPORTS4ED* believes the nation can accelerate its journey toward becoming an empowered and prosperous middle-income society, with sports playing a pivotal role in that narrative.

*Zimsports4ED Throws Weight Behind Constitutional Amendment No. 3*
ZANU-PF Harare Province Provincial Member and Zimsports4ED founding board member, Cde Hardlife Maphosa, has reaffirmed the organisation’s full support for Constitutional Amendment Bill No. 3, describing it as a people-centred legislative milestone aligned with Zimbabwe’s Vision 2030 development agenda. Speaking on the sidelines of the graduation ceremony of 350 students at Churu Constituency Ward 6, presided over by Cde Ephraim Fundukwa today, Cde Maphosa said the amendment represents the practical implementation of the will and aspirations of the people. He noted that Zimsports4ED has since coined the phrase “Bill Number 3 inopedza maSports,” symbolising the organisation’s strong endorsement of the progressive reforms contained in the bill.
Cde Maphosa applauded the proposed seven-year life cycle for Parliament and the Presidential term, urging all progressive and development-oriented Zimbabweans to rally behind the amendment, which he said emerged from grassroots consultations within ZANU-PF and the broader citizenry. He further commended His Excellency President Dr Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa for championing youth empowerment, infrastructure development and consistent calls for young people to desist from drug and substance abuse. According to Cde Maphosa, these initiatives have strengthened investor confidence, stimulated economic growth and created employment opportunities, positioning Zimbabwe firmly on the path toward sustainable national prosperity....🐊✊
