Nitazie FC Head to Rimuka Determined to Continue Momentum

Nitazie FC will take their entertaining brand of football to Rimuka Stadium this Sunday when they face hosts Kadoma City in a Mashonaland West Division 2B West league encounter.

Coming off an entertaining draw against Barca Kadoma last weekend, the 'passing boys' are refusing to let controversy define them. They felt they were denied a clear penalty and that Barca's equaliser should have been ruled out for offside. But with three points still on offer in the league race, Nitazie have quickly shifted focus. The message in camp is clear: learn from last Sunday, and go to Kadoma looking to impose themselves again.

For Kadoma City, nicknamed 'Yemunyanza', it is a chance to defend home pride in front of their Rimuka faithful. For Nitazie, it is an opportunity to prove that their style can deliver results on the road and keep their momentum alive.

That forward focus has defined training this week. Instead of dwelling on what might have been, the technical team has drilled the players on turning dominance into goals.

Nitazie have built a reputation this season on patience in possession and building from the back. Against Barca they completed sequences of 10-plus passes that opened spaces, and created several clear chances even after conceding.

The coaching staff have not asked them to change that approach ahead of Kadoma City. If anything, they want more of it, with an emphasis on the final ball. Finishing and decision-making in the last 20 yards have been the main talking points in training.

"We know who we are," said the technical team. "We are the passing boys. If we keep the ball and move it quickly, we can hurt any team in this league. Sunday is about doing that for 90 minutes."

For the first time since joining the league, Nitazie conceded more than one goal in a single game against Barca. That stat has put extra focus on the defense this week. The team will bank on captain Dean Mutakwa to organize at the back, alongside the experienced Norman 'Buju' Chikumbirike, Roy, and Musa Abasi. Their job will be to provide cover and protection for goalkeeper Justice Munorweyi, and to make sure Rimuka is not a repeat of last Sunday’s defensive lapses. With leadership from Mutakwa and the grit of 'Buju', Nitazie will look to be compact, win duels, and start attacks from deep.

In midfield, Hamfrey, Praise Mutetwa and 'Mbarure' Mudena will be tasked with breaking up Kadoma City’s rhythm and controlling tempo. Their energy and ability to recycle possession will be vital if Nitazie are to play their passing game against a physical home side.

Up front, the strikeforce of Tinashe Marufu, Nhubu and Russell Fumbe will be expected to carry the day for Nitazie. All three have not shown flashes this season and will be looking to turn possession into goals on Sunday. The technical team has also hinted that other players could get a chance to prove themselves. That depth is seen as a positive, with competition for places pushing everyone in training.

Kadoma City are a different test. At home, 'Yemunyanza' play with intensity, feed off the crowd, and are not afraid to go direct. They will look to disrupt Nitazie’s rhythm early, press high, and use set pieces and second balls.

That sets up a clear tactical battle. Possession and composure versus physicality and tempo. Rimuka Stadium is a tight ground and the atmosphere will be loud, so Nitazie’s first 15 minutes will be crucial. Weather the early storm, keep the ball, and the 'passing boys' believe they can dictate terms.

Three points away from home would do more than just add to the tally. It would show that Nitazie can win ugly, win pretty, and win despite setbacks. In a Division 2B West race that is expected to be tight, those road wins are what separate contenders from the rest.

The mood in the Nitazie camp is said to be positive. There are no fresh injury worries, and the group that performed well against Barca is available again. This week’s sessions have focused on three areas: composure in front of goal, defending crosses and set pieces, and communication to deal with a hostile away environment. The technical team have also worked on transition moments, knowing Kadoma City will try to catch them on the break if Nitazie commit numbers forward.
