MANICALAND PROVINCIAL HIGH SCHOOLS SOFTBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS – DAY 2 WRAP-UP

The 2026 Manicaland Provincial High Schools Softball Championships concluded today at Mutare Girls High School, with teams producing a much-improved standard of play compared to Day 1. Across both the Under-16 and Under-20 categories, players displayed greater confidence, teamwork, and game awareness, highlighting the value of regular competition and exposure.

A notable achievement was the participation of over 300 young softballers from 5 of Manicaland's 7 districts, a clear indication that the sport continues to grow across the province. Well done, Manicaland!

While we congratulate the teams that qualified to represent the province at the National High Schools Softball Championships in Bulawayo this July, our focus extends beyond qualification. The real victory lies in creating continuous opportunities for learners to play, develop, and perfect their game throughout the year.

The progress witnessed over the past two days reinforces the importance of sustained softball activity in our schools and communities as we continue building the future of the sport in Manicaland.

Congratulations to all players, coaches, officials, schools, and supporters who made the championships a success.
