The truth is, we don’t always hold on because something is still good for us.

Sometimes, we hold on because it’s **comfortable, familiar, and connected to our identity.**

The brain can prefer a familiar struggle over an uncertain future. And the longer we’ve invested in something, the harder it can feel to walk away—even when the evidence tells us it’s time for a change.

I see this in leadership, business, and even personal growth.

People and organizations don’t always get stuck because they lack knowledge.

They get stuck because of **emotional investment.**

They continue with the project, the position, the relationship, or the strategy long after it has stopped moving them forward.

Not because it still works.

But because letting go means accepting that the old version of the story is no longer true.

When you’re caught between **“hold on” or “move on,”** ask yourself:

🔹 Is this creating progress—or simply maintaining the status quo?
🔹 Is this discomfort a sign of growth—or am I repeating the same lesson?
🔹 If I had no history with this, would I choose it again today?

Sometimes, the answers are already clear.
