Iwan Burgwin, scrum half for the men’s senior teams, joined the Dragons whilst recovering from a serious leg injury. He has spoken about how helpful the community was in helping him get back on the pitch with full confidence, as well as helping him to expand his own professional network. A popular and talented person on and off the pitch, Bugsy is now a key player and member of the men’s rugby setup.

Eddie Weaver, winger for the men’s senior teams, joined the Dragons shortly after arriving in Dubai last season. Along with brilliant performances and an impressive record of tries scored, Eddie speaks about how he joined the club based on its reputation from last and present players, and how he hasn’t looked back since.

🐉 IMPORTANT UPDATE 🐉

Due to the current and ongoing situation, the RCM, in combination with all UAE rugby clubs have decided to end this current season with immediate effect.

With regards to Men’s rugby, the Dragons were hoping to review the current situation by the 15th of April, at which stage a further decision would be made. Unfortunately however, the majority of clubs in the UAE have voted to conclude the current season with immediate effect. We understand and respect each respective clubs’ reason for this.

We would like to thank all of our players, families, sponsors and supporters for their commitment so far in 2026.

We intend on continuing training sessions, minis, friendlies, tournaments, golf and community events safely in the coming weeks, in line with government guidance.

Times like these show what communities like the Dragons are made of. We urge everyone to stay safe and stay connected, so that we can come back stronger than before. 💙
