Framing is a technique used to manipulate information by changing the way it is presented which affects peoples’ judgments.

And this leads them to decide based on the way the information is presented, as opposed to just on the facts themselves.

Many e-commerce sites use this as well to their advantage. From putting a positive spin on their product to assigning time bound discounts such as these headlines

“ the no.1 influencer wardrobe is now available for a limited time only, accepting orders for the next hour only” to top it off, they will put a timer to show countdown.

So remember the next time you see a misleading headline or overly exaggerated product description ؛ you might not have the full information. And I only can recommend extensive research before making any decision.

I can safely say I am fully conditioned to check out customer reviews when I’m purchasing a product or service. I search delivery platforms reviews, I check with my favourite influencers , I call my friends . But believe it or not, majority of my purchases are from referrals. So lets what are the 5 reasons that your business is not getting referrals:

1- YOU Didn’t Ask for Referrals
You might busy with other aspects of your business but neglecting asking for referrals is too big of an opportunity for you to miss.

2- YOUR Customers Faced a Bad Experience
Your customers must have faced a negative experience with your business either directly or indirectly and now hesitant to recommend you to their circle of friends & family.

3- YOU Didn’t Meet Your Customer’s Expectation
This means to motivate them to recommend you to others, you have to go above and beyond their expectations & deliver an outstanding service.

4- You re Not In Touch With Them

Customers are humans and they forget. They change jobs, countries, relationships and hair colours. So to keep you fresh on their mind; you must stay in touch. Send out regular communications that are not related to sales such as DIY, Tips on your products or even how to unlock free features on your products and services.

5- Incentive
This good old sweetening strategy will make them feel appreciated, motivated and not used. So offer discounts, a promotion or a thank you email to show your appreciation for helping your small business.

Only few of businesses realize the importance of referrals . Don’t be a part of the other majority .

How often did you refer somone to a business? share your stories and thoughts in the comments.

In this day and age, even your curent skils can be outdated within months. And companies are always looking to hire UX Designers based on several sets of skills. So are you prepared 😱

Recentely i took advantage of given off time and made time by cutting distratcions (movies, netflex, outings, social media consuptions and so on..) and took time to evaluate my skills as per market trend and come up of a "fix-upper" plan and learned all the things mentioned. 🥲

But as UX Designers, what are you doing about your skills?🤷🏾‍♀️

🔊🔇 😱 In UX Design, we not only map out the complete customer experience of any service or product, we also design for consistency.

🔊 Because providing positive customer experience on occasion is not enough, we need to design and deliver unique, attractive and tailored experience to constantly engage customers.

👍 Remember, CONSISTANT positive experience will drastically lower your customer fall out rate.

A Major mistake startups or companies make is thinking the absence of negative feedback is a sign of satisfaction. Its not.

Your customers might not be happy and are actively sharing their negative feedback with other customers and not with you and this could kill any business.

In a time where customer expectation is a ruling force, you need to set up enough feedback channels to obtain all levels of customer satisfaction data and consistently followup with them.

Know this : “I LOVE this idea” is not the same thing as “I will PAY FOR this product”
And some startups launch their business with I love this idea mindset and that's false positives.

You need to validate your ideas in the market and get customers feedback before fully jumping in.
