As my time in the UAE comes to an end it’s a chance to reflect on the great times I’ve had but also an opportunity to thank those who have helped me along the way!
It’s a pleasure & privilege to teach some inspiring children but also work alongside brilliant teachers!

Update!
It’s been a month since my last post & for good reason too!
The past month I’ve been hit for six by a virus which attacked my inner ear. Causing me to suffer from severe vertigo and left me in bed recovering for most of it.
Since then I’ve been taking things real easy. Advice I give to all those I coach that when the body is undergoing stress you must give it time to recover otherwise you’ll burn out.
Luckily I’m getting back to myself & getting my balance back. With the temperature in dubai cooling down I managed to get out to a favourite sunset spot last week.
Normal service will resume moving forward 💪🏼
Look after yourselves 🙏🏽

This week is the inevitable week 3 in education.
It’s this week where fatigue & sickness creeps in after the initial buzz of return to school begins to falter.
These weeks happen in life, in our childhood and in our lives as adults now.
In these weeks it’s important to show yourself some TLC!
For me I have been continuing to exercise but taking more rest to accommodate the build up in fatigue. While continuing to eat well & take a multi vitamin.
Additionally in the time out of work I’ve been doing things to relax that I enjoy such as catching up with friends & getting outside when the Dubai heat allows it.
Lastly I have highlights pop up on my phone Home Screen daily to bring back memories of trips I’ve done in the past this tends to put a smile on my face.
Here is a shot of the Bernabau where I got to see Real Madrid play at home 7 years ago!

Thursday journal -
Since moving to dubai I have taken up padel & while I have a history of playing tennis it’s always good to try a new sport.
Tonight was the first night of .collective league. It was really good to experience some healthy competition playing a sport I enjoy.
While competitive situations can sometimes kill the fun aspect of sport I like the challenge it represents to think on your feet and perform under pressure.
This stimuli is one we often loose as we age through the form of sport and gain in our profession, but go looking for it in your own pursuits as a hobby provides balance to your life.

Why do children need activity?
Physical activity helps children develop their gross and fine motor skills, coordination, balance, and flexibility. It also promotes healthy growth and development, improves cardiovascular health, and reduces the risk of obesity.
Furthermore, physical activity helps children build self-esteem, social skills, and emotional regulation.
Encouraging children to be more active is essential for their physical and mental health. Here are some ways parents can motivate their children to be more active:
1. Lead by example: Children are more likely to be active if their parents are active themselves. Parents can engage in physical activities with their children, such as playing sports or going for a walk.
2. Make it fun: Children are more likely to be active if they are having fun. Parents can encourage their children to participate in activities that they enjoy, such as dancing or playing games.
3. Set limits on screen time: Children who spend too much time in front of screens are less likely to be active. Parents can limit their children's screen time and encourage them to participate in physical activities instead.
4. Provide opportunities: Parents can provide opportunities for their children to be active, such as enrolling them in sports programs or taking them to the park.
5. Be supportive: Encouragement and support from parents can motivate children to be more active. Parents can praise their children for being active and provide positive reinforcement.
Don’t underestimate the impact you have on your child as you have a crucial role in encouraging their children to be more active by leading by example, making it fun, setting limits on screen time, providing opportunities, and being supportive.
P.S. This is my adorable niece who need no encouragement to run at present 🤣

This week has been back to work & back to routine but that doesn’t mean I don’t have time for myself!
Protecting time is important to everyone to ensure that there are periods of rest & periods of activity.
Maintaining this balance is crucial to staying happy & healthy.
It’s been fun getting back on the bike this week after a long time off! I am hoping the legs return soon too 🤣
