Challenge Roth never disappoints!
Another team member crossing that finish line in the South of Germany, another team member big time impressed by the organization, by the phenomenal atmosphere and by all those volunteers even helping to get your bike, get you into your shoes and handing you your glasses.
A non wetsuit swim this year - a 180 km hilly bike course with around 1500m elevation and a 42.2 km marathon with some elevation as well to top if off
and then flying across that finish line with the best possible support at the location (thank you Tammy) as of course to be able to go through that long preparation phase we can only do that will full family support.
Congratulations Mr. Joerg for another massive accomplishment on behalf of this whole team
Keep flying Joerg !

One more time back to Sunday, the 21st of June where we had a nice group with 8 team members racing IronMan 70.3 WestFriesland in Hoorn.
A pretty rough swim going out with some waves making it a bit harder to sight on the buoys, a flat fast at the end bit more technical 90km bike course and completing that long day with a 21.1 km - 2.5 loop through the old city center of Hoorn and surroundings with a massive crowd coming out to cheer for everyone.
Farah going for her first IronMan 70.3 - the other team members already having a bit more experience.
Everyone again reaching that finish line with a big smile and a "flying finish" after some great days spent together.
Thank you IRONMAN Triathlon and IRONMAN The Netherlands for a more than fantastic day and organization

Back to last Sunday - back to "De Watersnood Marathon" - a special event which got set up to remember the flooding exactly 100 years ago in "Het Land van Maas en Waal"
MMaikel van HaagenMMartijn Wichen
Starting in "Overasselt - running all the way over the dikes towards "Dreumel"
42.2 km where our coach and team member Maikel shows again his strength. Despite facing cramps starting around km 28 already - managing to become 4th and despite having a "bad day" completing that marathon in 3 hours and 10 minutes confirming the super strong shape he is in.
Thanks "Martijn van Wichen" as well for supporting him on the ride and for the family support and local support especially in his home town " Alphen aan de Maas" while of course finishing in style with one of his nephews ❤️
Next stop IronMan 70.3 The Netherlands on the 21st of June

Ivo despite some achilles issues the week before running the marathon from start to finish as a Swiss Clock - always 5 min/km pace so ending up in a 3.5 hours excellent time.
Jaap running the Rotterdam marathon for the 6th time, his daughter for the first time after already have done the Amsterdam marathon
Well done you guys! Congratulations on behalf of this whole team !

Back to the weekend, to be precise, back to last Friday and Saturday with these 2 super ladies.
On Friday we had Hana running the Dead Sea Half marathon in Jordan. Driving the eve before from Saudi - 7 hours drive - and with a very short sleep (3 hours) still managing to set another PB !!
And on Saturday it was the very famous 2 Oceans Ultra marathon day for our Celeste in South Africa
56 km running - a huge amount of elevation (especially at the end) but also Celeste made it. 12 years after her last 2 Oceans run ( she did it twice already in the past) - in the meantime having 3 children but also Celeste managed to set a PB ( 1 minute for every kid) as she set a 3 minutes personal best as well 🥳
But as always if you are able to smile like this - if the mind stays positive - anything is possible !!
Massive congratulations on behalf of this whole team who you made proud !!!
Keep inspiring ladies !!

Hans coming out of the water in second position as always with a strong swim in his 55-59 age group - controlling the power and effort on the bike while completing his 70.3 with this second fastest ever half marathon ending up 10th in his age group and setting a Personal Best on a course with more than 700,melevation on the bike and Joerg running almost 4 hours - wearing ice spikes in a "brutally exhausting event" but loving it to the max

Back to the weekend of the 31st of January and the first of February where we had Samya racing Challenge Sir Bani Yas in Abu Dhabi and where we had Farah, Dharmin, Saleh and Haitham running the Dubai marathon one day later.
After having joined the 2025 version as a volunteer - Samya liked the area so much she decided to race it this year. The buildup to the event was amazing - fitness very nicely improving but in the last 2-3 weeks before the race she felt like lacking a bit of energy sometimes and even some dizziness so we had to be extra careful.
A good swim - a smart bike - making sure the energy was still there after that 1900m swim and 96k on the bike - but despite that ... on the run it became harder and harder and also on race day that dizziness showed up - but she is strong - mentally very strong - completed the race and even became 3rd in her age group and qualified for Challenge World Champs later this year in Samorin
On Sunday we had both Farah and Saleh running their first marathon with excellent finish times and we had both Dharmin and Haitham setting themselves a Personal Best so also Sunday was another very successful day.
Massive congratulations again on behalf of this whole team guys!
