One thing I think we sometimes underestimate in L&D is how much adults bring into the room before the learning even starts.

Previous experience can help learning, but it can also shape assumptions, habits, and resistance to doing things differently.

That is why relevance, practical application, autonomy, and real workplace problems matter so much. For me, the real test is whether someone can take something from the learning experience and actually use it in their day-to-day work.

Sometimes the hidden cost is inconsistency, overload, or lack of structure.

Cost optimisation is important, but so is being realistic about what internal teams can sustainably deliver. 💡
