Some very special UAE ocean news this week!

๐Ÿข Abu Dhabi has recorded its first-ever Olive Ridley sea turtle nest on Saadiyat Island.

The turtle laid 109 eggs, and 40 hatchlings successfully reached the sea. Scientists then used DNA testing to confirm the species โ€” a 99% match.

Such an amazing reminder of the marine life we have right here in the UAE ๐Ÿ’™

Also in this week's positive ocean news:

๐ŸŒฑ UAE mangrove restoration passes the halfway mark towards 100 million mangroves
๐Ÿชธ More long-term support is being developed for Red Sea coral reefs
๐Ÿฆˆ Fishing communities in Colombia are changing practices to protect sharks
๐ŸŒŠ New marine reserves in New Zealand are being co-managed with Mฤori communities

Weโ€™ve put the full roundup on the Chloe Blue blog.

Which story is your favourite this week? ๐Ÿข๐ŸŒŠ

POV: you have a zero dรฉcor budgetโ€ฆ but a lot of cardboard, toilet roll and an unhealthy obsession with the ocean ๐Ÿข๐Ÿ˜‚

Weโ€™ve been slowly turning our Dive Tribe space into something that feels a little more Chloe Blue โ€” making sea turtles, shells, sharks and whatever else we can create from things we already have lying around.

Itโ€™s definitely not perfect. But thatโ€™s kind of the point. ๐Ÿ’™

Reuse what we can. Get creative. Make the ocean part of the space.

And while we were making these, we started thinkingโ€ฆ would anyone actually want to come and do this with us?

Would you come to an Ocean Craft Club at Chloe Blue?

โ€œI think Iโ€™ve found my thing.โ€ ๐Ÿ’™

Jessica joined our Ocean Explorers Camp and, at just 13, completed her PADI Junior Open Water Diver certification.

But the qualification was only part of what made her week so special. She discovered a new world, built confidence underwater and found something that genuinely excited her.

Her mum later shared:

โ€œThe instructors were knowledgeable and made everything fun with the right level of seriousness. She announced in the car home, โ€˜I think Iโ€™ve found my thingโ€™ โ€” and thatโ€™s all because of the team.โ€

That is exactly why Chloe Blue exists: to give young people the opportunity to experience our local ocean, discover what they are capable of and, sometimes, find the thing that stays with them for life.

Congratulations, Jessica. Welcome to the diving community โ€” we have a feeling this is only the beginning ๐Ÿ ๐Ÿคฟ

Weโ€™re so lucky to have all 10 of these experiences right here in the UAE, yet so many children still havenโ€™t had the chance to explore our local blue ๐ŸŒŠ

Not because they donโ€™t love the ocean, but because they havenโ€™t always had the opportunity.

That first breath underwater. Seeing a sea turtle in the wild. Watching a reef shark glide past. Learning to identify fish. Taking part in a clean-up and realising that their actions genuinely matter.

These arenโ€™t just exciting experiences. They build confidence, curiosity and a deeper connection with the natural world ๐Ÿ’™

How many has your child experienced โ€” and which one would they love to try next?

Still absolutely buzzing from the last two weeks of Summer Ocean Explorers Camp! ๐ŸŒŠ

Meeting a whole new wave of kids who want to become marine biologists and ocean enthusiasts has been incredible. I genuinely can't stop smiling looking back at everything they've achieved โ€” the confidence, the curiosity, the little lightbulb moments. This is exactly why I do what I do. ๐Ÿ’™

We've got one final camp coming in August, so if your little ocean lover wants in, don't leave it too late! ๐Ÿข

We'll be taking a small break from camps during the peak summer heat โ˜€๏ธ โ€” but we're still running:

๐Ÿคฟ Indoor scuba sessions in the pool
๐ŸŒŠ Dive trips in Fujairah

Whether you're looking to train, explore, or just get back in the water, come dive with us.

Drop me a message or head to the link in bio to book. ๐Ÿ’Œ

Every week I watch children take their first breath underwater. Some of them will go on to become avid divers. Most won't โ€” and that's okay.

Because what they take home isn't a certification card. It's the memory of a turtle gliding past them. The moment the ocean stopped being scary and started being theirs.

Skills fade. That feeling doesn't. And a child who has fallen in love with the ocean will spend the rest of their life protecting it.

That's what we're really teaching. ๐ŸŒŠ

This is what the whole week was building towards ๐Ÿšค๐ŸŒŠ

After five days of training, learning and practising, our Ocean Explorers took everything they'd learned into the open ocean โ€” a full day on the water in Fujairah, exploring the incredible Dibba Rock.

From the moment they stepped onto the boat, the excitement was unreal.

Snorkellers glided over the reef, our junior divers descended for real ocean dives, and everyone came face to face with turtles, rays and shoals of tropical fish ๐Ÿข๐Ÿ  (with a buffet lunch on board to refuel between adventures, of course ๐Ÿฝ๏ธ)

But don't just take our word for it โ€” hear what the kids and parents had to say ๐Ÿ’™

Think your child would love a week like this? Our next Ocean Explorers Camps run:
๐Ÿ—“ 18โ€“22 August
๐Ÿ—“ 20โ€“24 October

Max 6 kids per group ยท Ages 6โ€“16 ยท All levels welcome.

๐Ÿ“ฉ DM us to reserve a spot before they're gone!

Canโ€™t believe weโ€™ve already finished Week 1 of Ocean Explorers Camp! ๐ŸŒŠ๐Ÿคฟ

We had such an amazing week with all the kids. One of my favourite parts was watching the children share what they had learnt about the ocean, compare stories and talk about everything they had seen underwater with their peers. They achieved so much and should be incredibly proud of themselves!

We were also unbelievably lucky with the visibility at Dibba Rock โ€” around 30 metres at the front of the island. Itโ€™s been a long time since weโ€™ve seen it that crystal clear!

And on top of that, there were loads of sea turtles, which both our snorkellers and scuba divers were able to see in their natural habitat ๐Ÿข

This weekโ€™s Chloe Blue impact:

๐Ÿคฟ 5 new Open Water Divers
๐Ÿชธ 1 new Coral Conservation Diver
๐ŸŒŠ 4 new Snorkelling Stars
๐Ÿซง 2 new Seal Team Divers

We canโ€™t wait to do it all again next week!

Week 2 is now completely sold out, but we have one final Ocean Explorers Camp running in August for anyone who missed out ๐Ÿ’™
