The D3 Ergo originates from the Expedition Drysuit EX2 which has its roots in special forces military suits where light weight, flexibility and movability is essential. After the EX2 had been on the market for a while Waterproof realized that it was being used in very different environments. Both Tech divers and Polar Diver Guides loved it. The suit was much more versatile than anyone could imagine. Therefore, it was decided to make a new suit with the same characteristics but with a strong tri-lam fabric instead of the EX2 breathable membrane. Including exchangeable silicone seals and a p*e zipper. So if you love movability, flexibility, a snug fit, low weight but still a durable suit – this is the one for you.

Since the D3 derives from a military suit, it is designed for unrestricted movability and control, both above and below the surface. Therefore it has a slimmer cut around the torso and legs for less drag and unnecessary air movement which enhances control. The D3 still has a bit more space around the shoulders to improve the movability in this area. With the placement of the dry zipper and the very soft tri-lam fabric there are literally no restrictions in movement.

The new Waterproof D7X NYLOTECH.

Since it’s introduction the Waterproof D7 has been the prime choice of drysuit within the advanced diving community.

Even though the Waterproof D7 was a modern and extremely well performing drysuit, the R&D at Waterproof decided to give it a major overhaul. Recent development in material and enhanced polymer science has made it possible to perfect the Waterproof D7 concept.

Nylotech, a new material developed to be softer, yet more resistant to abrasion.

A reshaped and slimmer fit resulting in a less bulky drysuit.

A new longer and curved zipper, placed higher up on the shoulder to enhance upper body movement as well as providing effortless donning and doffing in an effort to boost the overall diving experience.

On the sixth day of Christmas Dave gave to me…

…a pair of Dive Rite XT Fins! Bam 💥!! These have been a firm favourite with divers since the 1990’s who are looking for high performance blades. These fins provide efficient finning in high flow or stiff currents. For tech divers, these blades are perfect for frog, modified flutter and power kicks. Even though they are stiff, they aren’t as heavy as traditional rubber fins, thus minimising leg and foot cramp. They are really comfortable too, and the marine grade stainless steel buckle secures the heel strap to the blade. Now the question is, do I want red, blue or black?
