Pakistan Hockey Team secured 3rd position in the Asian Hockey Championship 2024.

Asian Champions Trophy for men's hockey 2024 has been much better fought out than the one in 2022.

South Korea has reaffirmed that they can never be taken lightly. Today they equalised in the last minute against Malaysia & knocked Malaysia out. They had scored a last-second goal against Pakistan too in their pool match.

So Pakistan-South Korea will be a very even match. South Korea does not play the European (and now Indian) style hockey so they will allow the Pakistani forwards plenty of space. Pakistan in turn should do that as well, so it will be free flowing attacking game of hockey.

India & China will see India as clear favourites but China has shown they are no pushovers. In fact, as they have shown in women's hockey, once China takes up a sport seriously they make very quick progress. They have speed & agility & some very good penalty corner specialists.

Pakistan demonstrated a shrewd tactical mind today where they denied space to Araijeet Hundal & Abhishek, both of whom have a rasping drive. They knew who to mark. Their penalty corner defence was very good. And their forwards were very sharp.

I will pick India as beating China comfortably.

Pakistan South Korea will be a very even content. Both are capable of winning.

So bring on the semifinals.
