Dribblers Basketball Academy

The Dribblers had an amazing Tour of Sri Lanka 2017, as the Teams performed with great enthusiasm against reputed Schools and Academies in Colombo, Kurunegala and Kandy. Day 1 and Day 2 matches were played at the Sugathadasa Indoor Basketball Stadium. Day 3 matches were played in Kurunegala and thereafter the teams departed to the hill capital Kandy for the Day 4 matches. Day 5 the Teams returned to Colombo for their final encounter which concluded in a victorious ending as The Minors and the Seniors teams were on fire winning both matches.

We are proud to say that our objective was indeed achieved with great skill and team spirit being demonstrated through out the tour. The players in both the Minors and the Senior Teams performed with great commitment and coordination thus achieving very high levels of Team spirit which was no doubt the strength of the victorious endings that were eventually embraced by all.

Most of the matches were extremely challenging and competitive as the scores were very close or at times tie, nevertheless the teams didn’t give up until the battle was concluded with an undying team effort. The players gained valuable experience whilst demonstrating their hidden talents and skills. Nevertheless, the challengers encountered during numerous situations of the game would no doubt help the players to enhance and develop their skills for future performances.

Overall it was an overwhelming experience for the little Minors as they won 5 out of 5 matches being a tremendous achievement on their debut tour. As for the Senior team, it was a great achievement as they battled against top ranked school teams in Sri Lanka and winning 3 matches out of 5 was an amazing performance even through most of the team members were touring for the first time. It was amazing to see the teams adapt exceptionally well to the different whether conditions specially the heavy rain experienced in Kandy. The weather was no barrier for the players as they battled on with a smile, thus enjoying the game to the highest extent. Not forgetting to mention our little Cheer Leading Squad who entertained the crowd with their funky moves from time to time, making it more exiting and enjoyable. All in all it was an memorable experience for the players, coaches, parents and well-wishers.
