We got invited to a private preview for the @honda Motocompacto, and we’re now seriously hyped for it. From its quirky design and top-notch build quality, to its affordability and ease of use for everyone, the Motocompacto is one of the most intriguing products we’ve seen in recent years within the automotive realm. The Motocompacto was a brainchild developed within Honda’s PPP (Personal Passion Project) department that grew resources and manpower organically, as the workers were genuinely interested in creating the product. The result is a “fun-for-everyone” consumer mobility scooter that’s perfect for short trips around campus, quick rides to the cafe, navigating around car show events and more. As for figures and features, Honda states the Motocompacto is good for 12 miles of range, and we can confirm the top speed of 15mph approaches within 7 seconds, give or take depending on driver size. The unit weighs in around 40 pounds and while we got a little tired hauling it around after a few minutes, you could leave the handlebars up and pull it like a suitcase – a neat hack for when you’re unable to ride. It also has an LED front headlight and brake lights, as well as a mini bike horn. The 2023 Honda Motocompacto is set for a November 1 release, priced at $995 USD.
