As part of its Medical Webinar Series, the Asian Paralympic Committee (APC) hosted a session on “Medical Surveillance System & Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Para Games Medical Preparations,” bringing together around 100 athletes, coaches, medical professionals, team officials and members of the Para sport community from across Asia.

The session focused on injury and illness surveillance in Para sport and how effective data collection can support prevention strategies, medical planning and safer participation. It also outlined the medical surveillance approach being developed for Aichi-Nagoya 2026 to strengthen athlete health and safety during the Games and support evidence-based practices across Asian Para sport.

Dr Abdulla Alrahoomi and Dr Iman Akef Khowailed led the session, combining research with practical Games-time medical preparations to support athlete health, safety and wellbeing before, during and beyond Aichi-Nagoya 2026.
