Trojans Surprise Titans to grab a place in the finals of YL3.
Trojans are the 1st to qualify for the finals after a solid performance for the 2nd time in the tournament beating The Titans in a closely fought encounter.
Toss won by Titans who decided to bat as has been tradition in this tournament. Hamdan Tahir was the first casualty at 27. Thereafter wickets kept falling at regular intervals. At one stage Titans were in serious trouble with 6 wickets down for 114 runs in 27 overs.Then the Titan skipper and man of the match Siddhant Agarwal (94 off 111 balls with 8 x 4's) and Anish Ramgopal 31 off 31 balls with 1 x 4 and 1 x 6) brought them up to a respectable position with the score ending at 208 for 8 in 40 overs.
For Trojans Pradhyumna Jagdish got 3 for 26 off his 8 overs and Rudra Mahadev got 2 for 50 off his 7 overs.
The chase was on.With what seemed a modest total, The Titan Skipper made most of the new ball by sending both trojan openers Kai Smith and Rudra Mahadev back into the pavilion before the end of the 1st over. (What an over). Ahaan fernendez was wicket number 3 for Siddhant and the Titans, with Trojans in serious trouble having lost 3 wickets for 31 runs in the 5th over. Trojan skipper A***n Lakra and Shawn George stabilized their teams position with a steady partnership with A***n scoring 60 off 64 balls with 6 x 4's and 1 x 6's and Shawn scoring 35 off 50 balls with 2 x4's. Then the Titan Skipper goth his 4th scalp when he had Shawn bowled with the score at 102. A***n was next to go with a beautiful throw from Saqib Bakhtiyar got him run out with the score at 124.
While the enviroment was tense all over the ground for both teams it was the Ice man Ambey Parwatkar who had a plan and was sitting easy just asking his batsmen to follow the strategy he had planned out for them. The game was changing sides going up and down like a yo yo to both teams. the 6th Trojan wicket fell at 125. The finish line looked a mile away but Chris Sequeira 22 off28 and Ebrahim Dodi 29 not out off 31 balls got them closer to the target. Then the golden arm of Siddhant struck again getting the wicket of Chris again the yo yo turned towards the Titans but it was master blaster Mohammad Akasha who stole the day from the Titans leaving them stunned with his 33 of only 12 balls with 3 x 4's and 2 x 6's finishing the game with 4 overs to spare.
Tomorrow Titans play Gladiators with what is potentially a Semi Final with both Qais Farooq the Gladiators Manager defending champions and Fahad Al Hashmi the Titans Manager runner up of edition 2 will put all their experience and strategy on the board to see who comes on top to play the Trojans. Could we have a new Champion again ?

It starts with a BANG. Last years Runner up team TITANS have a field day.The toss was won by SPARTANS who decided to bat.They were on the back foot from the start as wonder boy Vriitya Arvind was the first casualty out for 2 with the score at 7 in the 2nd over.next to depart was Sarel Botha. Alishan Sharfu and TITANS skipper Siddhant Agarwal had the SPARTANS team in serious trouble with the score at 25 for 5 in 10.3 overs. Ahad Syed, Ayush Walia and Nitin Kumar were the only 3 to reach double digits.Ahad 31 off 83 balls, Ayush 16 off 35 and Nitin 34 off 49. Spartans could only manage 122 all out in 39.1 overs.
Even though Siddhant and Alishan were in the wickets and did the damage with figures of 6 overs 17 for 2 Siddhant and 6 overs 24 for 5 Alishan.The 3 TITANS spinners kept their opposition under control to the end.Jash Gaynani 8 overs 26 for 1. Vinayak Raghvan 6 overs 6 runs and Vishnu Narayan 5 overs 10 for 1.
The chase was a formality with Hamdan tahir 24 not out but it was man of the match Alishan Sharfu who played havoc with the bowlers ending 87 not out off 38 balls with 15 x 4's and 3 x 6's giving the TITANS victory in 13.1 overs by 9 wickets. Titans have been there in both finals previously and yesterday With Fahad Al Hashmi's boys letting their opponents know they aim to make it to the finals again.
