2 months ago Ali had a bike accident which resulted in skin burns, infections and bruises amongst other health complications.
Ali had to take a break from his training for several weeks until he was able to start again gradually.
He managed to get back to his fitness level just in time for the race but unfortunately his luck dipped again and just 4 days before the race he caught a bad cold.
Ali was about to quit and give up this race, but there was something inside pushing him to break his personal record.
Ali managed to not only enter the race but he also break his personal record by almost 1 hour!
Yes you read it right, one full HOUR!

Amir Sardina Is a new rising athlete.
This was his first ironman 70.3 race. He did it with limited nutrition knowledge, riding an aluminum road bike and regardless he absolutely SMASHED the finish line in
4:31 hours.

Amir is a pro open water swimmer who started doing triathlons only less than a year ago.

With this rate, We are excepting to see Amir flying the Egyptian flag on the podium in future races!

Last week, more than 50 Egyptian triathletes took part in the Ironman 70.3 Bahrain.
19 athletes were flying TriEgypt flag , and in the coming days we will share their individual stories and journeys to killing it in the race!

On the other side of the globe and in two Egyptians (Yasmin Halawa and Ahmad Iraky ), not just raced in the heat and humidity, but managed to be on the podium for their respective age groups as third and second! Earning their 70.3 World Championship qualification slots in New Zealand for the third year in a row! This race is not an easy one, it is known for its rough swim course and the high elevation at the bike course, but we have every faith that our athletes will SMASH it 💪

It was a tough course with more than 800 meters elevation on the bike and she managed to be the 2nd on her age group and 6th on the female.
