*A Celebration of Learning, Growth & Transformation ✨*

📚 From Vision to Reality ✨

What began as an idea has now found its way into our students’ hands.

We recently celebrated the distribution of our books, *The Progress* and *Metamorphosis*, to our NISTA Kids and KYTTC students. It was a joyful occasion filled with smiles, excitement and a shared sense of accomplishment.

More than just books, these are humble offerings intended to encourage reflection, learning, self-discovery and growth. Witnessing the enthusiasm and curiosity of our students made this milestone truly meaningful.

📖 Every book carries knowledge.
🌱 Every student carries possibility.
🕉️ Every step forward honours tradition.

May these books become trusted companions on the journey of learning and transformation.

✨ May every page inspire exploration.
✨ May every chapter spark meaningful growth.
✨ May every reader discover new insights within themselves.

With gratitude to everyone who contributed to bringing these books to life and to the students who now carry this journey forward.

🌿 Knowledge shared is knowledge multiplied.

*14-Step Surya Namaskar*

Different traditions and schools across the world follow variations of Surya Namaskar, including expanded sequences with additional steps and breathing patterns. Among these, the 14-step method offers a gentler and more balanced progression that is considered more suitable for the feminine body.

This variation provides greater attention to fluidity, stability, rhythmic breathing, and breath coordination throughout the sequence. The additional steps create a smoother and more synchronized flow, supporting a balanced and harmonious practice.

Like the 12-step method, the 14-step Surya Namaskar is also a modern adaptation rather than a classical yogic practice directly described in the ancient texts. However, due to its practical value and suitability for feminine energy, it has been included in the Hatha Vidya curriculum as a supportive dynamic practice.

At Hatha Vidya, the 14-step Surya Namaskar is taught to women as part of the regular practice sessions, ensuring that the movements and breathing are appropriately aligned with the needs of the practitioner.

*12-Step Surya Namaskar*

Surya Namaskar is one of the most popular forms of exercise practiced worldwide today. Although many people consider it a traditional part of Yoga, it is better understood as a dynamic exercise system that evolved in India and later spread across the world. While the movements resemble yogic postures, they are not practiced in the same way as classical yogāsanas when observed closely. For this reason, Hatha Vidya has not traditionally included Surya Namaskar as a core part of its curriculum.

According to the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali,
*“Sthiram Sukham Asanam”* — an asana should be steady and comfortable. The continuously dynamic nature of Surya Namaskar does not fully align with this classical understanding of asana. Furthermore, no direct references to the modern 12-step Surya Namaskar sequence have been found in the traditional yogic scriptures.

However, considering its many health benefits and growing popular demand, these practices are taught as supportive dynamic exercises along with proper breath regulation for each movement. The 12-step Surya Namaskar is the most widely practiced version and is generally considered more suitable for the masculine body.
