SB20 ME & UAE National Championships 2024 - Day 2! What a day on the water it was! 😱 Shamal is almost over, so the weather is all over the place - gusts, lulls, shifts. It was still windy out there especially at the end of the day, but at the same time we struggled to plane at times. Well done everyone and see you all tomorrow ☺️

SB20 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS - DAY 0

Excitement built for the entire day starting with the Appendix UF briefing, last sail number stickers put on the and last crews registering on the day.

Breeze came in time for the practice race. First start sequence got abandoned last minute with AP going up due to 60deg wind shifts. Second clear start set the fleet off for a tricky and shifty upwind leg. First three boats rounding the top mark were BUL 3149 Ivana&Alex, GBR 3814 Xcellent and UAE 3365 Koda. The wind completely s**t down shortly after first boats rounding the top with heavy rain coming in. November flag was announced on the VHF and the fleet head with breeze building back as soon as the rain disappeared.

Crews enjoyed evening in the race village with the opening ceremony taking place at 6:30pm.

Strong winds reaching 20kts+ made it an exciting, unforgettable experience to many of us. We are extremely proud and grateful to have reached such a quality of racing on our home waters in Dubai.

Challenging SB20 Commodores Cup day #6! Very light winds meant a lot of lead changes and up and down results. Build up to sees much more effort and training by everyone! We really appreciate to have all the international visiting boats and sailors on the water! 🥰 Congratulations to all the winners of today. One more day tomorrow 💪🏻 Cannot wait for the upcoming SB20 Asia Pacs and then Worlds 2024! ☺️

📣 At the end of another busy year the president of the SB20 Class sends out an update about the dealer network:

"The World Council have been working diligently to work through a better model for the Distributor / Dealer network that will result in far better service and cheaper prices for all boat owners. We are strengthening and growing the Dealers in locations around the World and ensuring that there is excellent reliable service in all locations where the SB20 boat is sailed. This is happening in a coordinated and managed way with all Dealers committing to work together to improve the arrangements for everyone. It is very important that all owners support their Dealers around the World as we work through the early stages of this process. If you are unsure as to who the Dealer is for your region please contact your District President, there will be list of all Dealers and Agents on the Class Website in the coming weeks.”
