Salt in the air, peace everywhere🌊

We are extremely proud of one of our athletes from Saudi Arabia, Azza, who has just won her first international sprint medals in a junior competition in the United States.

Following her participation at the ICF Junior & U23 World Championships in Halifax, Azza is currently attending a seven-week training camp in the USA under the guidance of Zolt Szadovszky (Szado) coach of the Tokyo Olympic champions. After the camp, she will compete at the Olympic Hopes Regatta in Bratislava.

Once she returns to the region, she will continue training with our team. We are also working hard to build a strong women’s squad by recruiting new athletes and welcoming additional experienced coaches to our programme.

First and foremost, congratulations to Azza on her outstanding achievement and remarkable progress in kayaking. Her development over the past year has been truly exceptional, and we are excited to see what the future holds.

2026 ACA Sprint National Championships, Azza competed in six races, winning five gold medals and one silver medal:

UAE Marine Sports Federation – International Meeting Explores the Development of Canoe and Kayak and Strengthens Cooperation in Paralympic Sport

The UAE Marine Sports Federation held a meeting with representatives of the International Canoe Federation (ICF) to explore ways of strengthening bilateral relations and enhancing cooperation in the development of canoe and kayak sport, with particular emphasis on the advancement of Paralympic canoe and kayak.

The meeting focused on opportunities for cooperation in athlete preparation and the exchange of technical expertise. The two sides also discussed prospects for future collaboration and reviewed initiatives aimed at broadening stakeholder participation in canoe and kayak, in line with the UAE’s efforts to support Paralympic sport and promote inclusivity across the sports sector.

The meeting also included an official invitation for the UAE Marine Sports Federation to participate in the 2026 International Canoe Federation Conference, scheduled to be held in Oklahoma City, United States.

The meeting was attended by H.E. Khaled bin Dasmal, Secretary-General of the UAE Maritime Sports Federation; H.E. Arif Ibrahim Al-Harnaki, Member of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Maritime Sports Federation; and H.E. Zubyan Salem Al-Muhiri, Secretary-General of the UAE Paralympic Committee, alongside Krisztian Bartfai, Zultan Dodompi and Bela Kocsis of the International Canoe Kayak Federation, and Salah Reali, the Technical Director of the committee, Emirates Paralympics.

The meeting forms part of the UAE Marine Sports Federation’s efforts to expand its international partnerships and strengthen cooperation with the UAE Paralympic Committee in developing Paralympic canoe and kayak. These efforts aim to create a supportive environment for athlete development and preparation, enhance participation in regional and international competitions, and ensure alignment with global best practices.
