47th Anniversary of Shorin Ryu Seibukan UAE

In 1979, a young boy—our present Chief Instructor, Kyoshi V. A. Mohammed Iqbal—came all the way from Kerala to Dubai, UAE, with a vision to promote true traditional Okinawan Shorin Ryu Seibukan Karate.

At that time, karate was not widely popular among the public; it was mainly restricted to police and defense sectors. With great dedication and hard work, he began teaching a few young local students privately in farms and rest houses.

Later, together with his brothers Najeem and Jaleel, they established the United Karate Group International. Today, we are proud to offer authentic training in:
• Traditional Okinawan Shorin Ryu Seibukan Karate
• Jinbukan Kobudo
• Shudokai Aikido

Our branches are spread across Dubai, Sharjah, Al Ain, and Ras Al Khaimah.

The years have passed quickly, and as the Chief Instructor in the UAE and Technical Director for the Middle East, Kyoshi Iqbal proudly assures that we continue to teach the exact techniques passed down from Japan by our Supreme Master, Hanshi Zenpo Shimabukuro (10th Dan)—recently honored with one of the highest recognitions in karate as a Living Treasure of Traditional Karate, preserving its true spirit and legacy for future generations.

Never give up. Life will bring both easy and difficult moments, but karate helps you overcome challenges with a healthy body and a calm mind.
