Turning to the Dark Side
"Turning to the dark side" is an idiom derived from the pop culture success of Star Wars, referring to someone starting to act in a way that is harmful, destructive, or evil, as exemplified by Anakin Skywalker's transformation into Darth Vader.

I was always the kind of guy who needed things to make sense, and they didn't. I looked at the world around me, and nothing about how human beings had come to organize and establish the world on virtually any scale of operation made sense to me. And nobody whose opinion I trusted, no authority figure, no social leader could explain it to me in a way that made sense until I was exposed to the ideas of Andrew Galambos. If that sounds like you, I encourage you to take my endorsement and look into what has been published here as Sic Itur Ad Astra from Spaceland Publications.
The Impact of Andrew Galambos and The V-50 Lectures
Few things about how the human world organized itself made sense to me until I was exposed to the ideas of Andrew J. Galambos in the V-50 Lectures.

The Romantic Ideal is not for the faint of heart. It demands readers confront their assumptions about love, gender, and identity. Diehl’s prose is incisive, his anecdotes poignant, and his conclusions polarizing. Yet, his work resonates because it dares to ask: What is love if not the ultimate journey toward self-actualization, guided by the light of another?
If you’re ready to question not just how you love but why, Diehl’s book will challenge you like few others can.

It’s impossible to learn about politics without also learning about economics, and vice versa. Every political action or claim is also an economic action or claim. Both, ultimately, describe our paradigm about and response to how people make choices.

I've known a lot of very promising very interesting, talented, beautiful, and intelligent people who feel very restrained, and contained, and detained. And it's mostly guilt, shame, and fear imposed on them by the culture around them. It's like they're so desperate to break out of those restraints that have been put on them, but they have no idea how. Everyone's primary concern is “What will people think of me if they know this about me, if they see me doing this?” It's a psychic epidemic, a wall around the consciousness of every bright individual. If there is something we're fighting against at the Kalavan Retreat Center, it's that: the psychic restraints put on intelligent, good, and capable people. That's the American dream.
