Today we pay homage to the victims of the disastrous earthquake that struck the northern region of Armenia 34 years ago on 7th of December 1988. The effects of the Spitak Earthquake (as it is popularly remembered) are still felt in Armenia.

India was among the list of counties that were quick to respond in sending humanitarian aid to the victims through the "Prime Minister's Relief Fund".

As we pay homage to the victims, we also thank all Indians and the Indian Government that showed the true meaning of friendship during those difficult days for Armenia.

Every year on the December 7th, Armed Forces Flag Day is marked in India to honour the brave sons and daughters who have fallen as martyrs for the country and to pay respects to the men and women in uniform who serve India, protecting her freedom, integrity and national unity. The day was first observed on December 7, 1949.

Shakti Dance and Song Group pays homage to all those who have the honour of wearing a uniform and thank them and their families for the invaluable service rendered to India.

Indian Constitution Day, also known as Samvidhan Divas, is celebrated in India on 26 November every year to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India. On this day back in 1949, the Constituent Assembly of India adopted the Constitution of India, which came into effect on 26 January 1950.

With 448 articles in 25 parts and 12 schedules, it is the lenghiest constitution in the world.

Chhath Puja is a festival dedicated to the Sun God to thank the Sun for bestowing the bounties of life on earth and to request the granting of certain wishes. Chhathi Maiya, the mother goddess and Sun's sister, is m Samvat. Environmentalists have claimed that the festival of Chhath is one of the most eco-friendly religious festivals.

Bhai Dooj, a day celebrating the pious bond between a brother and a sister, is celebrated every year following Diwali. On this day, sisters pray for a long, happy and prosperous life for their brothers, by performing the auspicious tika ceremony. In return, the brothers offer them gifts and a promise to protect and look out for them. The festival is known by different names across India like ‘Bhaiya Dooj‘, ‘Bhau Beej‘, ‘Bhatra Dwitiya‘, ‘Bhai Dwitiya‘, ‘Bhathru Dwithiya‘, ‘Bhai Phota‘, etc.
