First day of the 6th Chessboxing World Championship, and what a day it was! Fighters from 20 different countries came to figure out who is the Toughest and Smartest on the Planet. Today, 29 fights took place, hundreds of chess moves were made, thousands of punches were thrown, but only a few Chessboxers made it to the next stage of the Championship! We are happy to discover new faces, welcome new countries within the Chessboxing family, make new friends, and see the improvement of many others since the last year. Thanks to the .ru team for the organisation, and kudos to all the fighters for the exciting fights!!

After 4 years, we are back! You might or might not know why we lost touch with our socials since 2020, but we are now ready to conquer the World with Chessboxing again! We are especially excited as this year’s Chessboxing World Championship starts tomorrow! All teams have arrived and are thrilled to be in Yerevan, Armenia for the 6th World Championship. Volfango Rizzi is the founding father of chessboxing in Italy. He founded the Federazione Italiana ScacchiPugilato - FISP in 2012. He has an official boxing referee license. Apart from that he is one of the finest chess arbiters we have and served as the main referee at the finals of the latest Amateur World Championship in Antalya Turkey.

0047: The 3rd Amateur World Championship took place in Antalya, Turkey December 2019. Fighters from 16 countries joined. Fédération de Chessboxing - France won the overall championship with 7 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze medal.

Frank Stoldt is considered the first real chessboxer having considerable qualities in both disciplines in history. A riot policeman and a national kickboxing champion he trained with Grandmaster Michael Richter and reached a Chess Elo Rating of 1900. Stoldt was Chessboxing World Champion in 2006 / 2007.

Montu Das founded the Chessboxing Organisation of India in 2011. He has been practicing Martial Arts for the last 31 years, was Indian Karate Champion in 1995 and Kickboxing Champion in 1997. Das organized numerous kickboxing events and has now dedicated himself to promote chessboxing in his country.
