Maarten Tennis Club was established on January 20, 1988, and its main purposes are:
- to make people practice the sport of tennis in St. Maarten and in general to promote the sport of tennis in St. Maarten

The association tries to achieve this purpose through:
- creating the opportunity to practice tennis through providing accommodation and instruction
- creating ties between the members
- organizing of,and promoting of and participating in contests, competitions, and tournaments
