✨Blue Marlin Recapture! ✨
This blue marlin was a double tournament recapture! It was originally tagged during the Old Salt Loop tournament last August by angler Robert Henderson and Captain Ken Cummins on Ho**er. It was then recaptured during the the Mississippi Gulf Coast Billfish Classic on June 12, 2020 by angler Dana Foster, Captain Myles Colley, and first mate Tyler Maxwell on Born2Run. In less than a year, it traveled a minimum of 271nm, but stayed in the Gulf of Mexico!
We generally do not encourage tournament tagging due to the incredible speed that tournament anglers and captains catch and release fish in during the tournament. However, when done correctly, as it was in this case, the results are extremely exciting and important for our understanding of these fish.
