Today’s going to be hard to beat.

I’m so passionate about making fishing as fun as possible for kids, and I get to do it alongside my friend Kel for . We both live busy lives, so we’ll only ever run a handful of these days a year, but when we do, we bring all the games and all the fun.

Thank you to YETI Europe for supporting this one. It’s a privilege to work with a company that supports so many local and grassroots events, and puts the next generation right at the heart of what they do.

We had casting games in the park, including popping balloons and Honeyhole, and learnt all about the lifecycle of the Atlantic salmon: why it matters so much, and how important it is to protect everything going on in and around the river - using the Atlantic Salmon Trust board illustration. Fish themed face painting by Inflatafun Ripon, which was very popular, and we also caught three fish 🎉 and all were quickly released.

All with the most stunning backdrop at Swinton Estate.

Huge thanks to our wonderful team of guides: Stephan Fly Fishing Nation, Neil and Gary. And the LW cupcakes were delicious yet again.

It was an honour to be demoing again in the fishing village at The Game Fair this weekend with Fly Fishing Nation.

We got to catch up with friends and finally meet people we’ve “known” for years but never actually met in person.

Taking Aria was next level madness, which is why we didn’t get as much time to say hello to everyone as we’d have liked.

As much as we appreciate where we started, we felt it was time for a rebrand to reflect the business we are today. The fishing school is still at the heart of everything we do - probably the biggest part. But these days we're out on the road a lot more too, with our hosted trips, and there's the shop as well.

We wanted the logo to carry something distinctly Northern: The North Country Spider - the classic soft-hackle wet fly that originated in the rivers and dales of Northern England.

To everyone who's been here, visited, and supported us over the last 7 years, thank you. We hope you'll stick with us, because the future's looking pretty exciting.
