2025 Oceania Championships in Pago Pago, American Samoa from 20-22 March. This event includes Women's, Freestyle, Greco Roman and Beach wrestling.
Oceania Wrestling Championships 2023
👉 Date: 08 - 09 August 2023
👉 Location: Netball Central, Sydney Olympic Park
🔴 Competition Information:
The 2023 Oceania Championships will be held between the 8th and 9th of August in Sydney. The following age and weight classes will be contested at the 2023 Oceania Championships:
Under 17 Males: 16-17 years of age (15 with medical and parental certificate)

Under 20 Males Freestyle: 18-20 years (17 with medical and parental certificate)

Under 20 Females: 18-20 years (17 with medical and parental certificate)
• 50/53/55/57/59/62/65/68/72/76kgs
Senior Female:
• 50/53/55/57/59/62/65/68/72/76kgs
Senior Male Freestyle
• 57/61/65/70/74/79/86/92/97/125kgs
Senior Male Greco-Roman:
• 55/60/63/67/72/77/82/87/97/130kgs
Selection Process
All wrestler that wish to be selected to attend the 2023 Oceania Championships must meet
the following criteria:
• Be the highest ranked Australian athlete in their nominated age and weight class at the
2023 Senior National Championships on the 3
rd June 2023.
• Attend the Wrestling Australia Junior Development camp at the Australian Institute of
Sport between the 10th and 14th April 2023. (U17 and U20 athletes only)
• Attend the Wrestling Australia National Camp at the Australia Institute of Sport in
June (date to be confirmed)
🔴 Additional Information:
Athletes must compete in the same age and weight class at both the 2023 Senior National
Championships and the 2023 Oceania Championships. If Wrestling Australia are permitted to enter additional people per weight class, Australian
athletes that finished second at the 2023 Senior National Championships will be selected to
attend the 2023 Oceania Championships and must follow the selection criteria. All athletes need to be a member of Wrestling Australia at the time of the Oceania
Championships.
🔴 Costs:
Attendance at the 2023 Oceania Championship is self-funded; each participant will need to
fund the following:
• Flights to and from Sydney
• Accommodation at the competition- for a minimum of 4 nights
• 2023 United World Wrestling Licence
• Entry fee
• Wrestling Australia uniform (if required)
Please note that the 2023 Oceania Championships will form part of the forthcoming Paris
2024 Olympic Team Selection Criteria for Australian Athletes.
