The new movie GOLD is officially selected and therefore, it’s the 5th time in a row that movies are part of the IF3 Movie Awards

GOLD - A Movie

This experimental ski film approaches the mountain from a different perspective. Shot exclusively during the golden hour — the most beautiful yet fleeting time of day — the light is unique, but it lies close to darkness: ascents begin in the night, and descents end in shadow. When temperatures are too mild, the snow can change so drastically that the effort of the climb is barely reflected in the descent. Complemented by footage captured with a thermal imaging camera, the film presents unfamiliar visuals that emphasize the interplay of light and temperature. Combined with an
original sound composition, a dense atmosphere emerges in which image and sound intertwine. Contrasts and warmth within the cold element form the foundation of the film.

Little to no information about it can be found on the internet, only that the blue line was first climbed up 2019. Multiple local sources of information including some La Paz mountain guides like have confirmed that these lines might never have been skied before.

This South Americas ski-journey concludes with unforgettable memories. Despite facing the toughest snow conditions in years, Peru’s stunning landscapes, bustling cities, and towering mountains made it an exhilarating adventure. We conquered two magnificent peaks (5765m and 6034m) and immersed ourselves in the vibrant local culture. While we return home exhausted, our hearts are full of cherished moments that will last a lifetime. Stay tuned for the movie in fall
