Workshops during the study visit in Greece covered the basics of mountain hiking and preparation tips as well as safety and confidence, how to navigate in the mountains, handle unexpected situations and map-reading exercises. Common barriers women face in hiking were addressed too. Slovak and Austrian participants who facilitated the workshops served as a source of motivation for others and contributed to the learning experience by sharing new knowledge and skills. 💪✨ Don’t worry — after all those brain gains in the workshops, we made time for a well-deserved rest... and a little city stroll to stretch our legs. 🏙

🏔 The first weekend of May 2025 brought together participants from Slovakia 🇸🇰, Austria 🇦🇹, and Greece 🇬🇷 for an inspiring study visit in Mount Olympus, Greece, as part of the 3 HUTS project, an initiative promoting active lifestyles among women. 🌸
On Friday, we hiked from Stavros to Prionia, passing sacred sites like St. Dionysios' cave and enjoying waterfalls and scenic views. 🌳 The day wrapped up with a workshop and rest. 🌄
Saturday’s journey took us up to 2000 m at Petrostrouga — 13 km with snowy peaks and joy, ending with a visit to the turquoise Orlias waterfall 💧 and an evening reflection session.
❤ HUGE THANKS to our mountain guide, his wife, and our coach & coordinator for their care during the whole stay. ✨
See you on the trails again soon! 🥾

🌲✨ On April 26th, we hit the trails with 11 amazing hikers for a scenic journey through the Viennese woods!
We kicked things off with an intro circle to connect before tackling 11km up to beautiful Kahlenberg 🌄— where we lunched with stunning views over Vienna and the Danube.
This hike was part of the 3HUTS Project, an initiative connecting 🇦🇹🇸🇰🇬🇷 to make hiking more inclusive — especially for women. Let’s make the outdoors a space where everyone feels welcome 🌍👣

Every path she takes is a journey inward.
Every breath of fresh air, a moment of clarity.

Trailblazers: Historic Women in Hiking
🧗♀️ Lynn Hill
In 1993, Lynn Hill became the first person to free climb The Nose on El Capitan. Not the first woman. The first human. One year later, she did it again in under 24 hours, just to make sure history was paying attention.
With a defiant “It goes, boys!” she shattered more than climbing records—she changed the game for good.
👣 Proof that the path to greatness doesn’t always go forward... sometimes, it goes straight up.
