What a way to close out the 2026 league campaign!

After an explosive start from Pakistan CC, our bowlers fought back brilliantly to restrict them to 137/9. Our spinners led the played a big part today where Sachin Fernando, Nalaka Rajapakse and Sampath Suranga with 2 wickets each, pulling the game back and giving us a strong platform for the chase👏🔥

The chase was then turned around by a magnificent 115-run partnership between Sampath Suranga and Sachin Fernando. Sampath’s unbeaten 67 and Sachin’s 41 took control of the innings and brought us right to the doorstep of victory💪

With the finish in sight, Asela Wijesinghe came in and sealed it in style with a quick-fire 18 off 10 balls*, taking us to 138/2 in 19.2 overs and an emphatic 8-wicket victory🚀

An all-round performance from Sampath, a crucial bowling fightback, a match-winning partnership, and a captain’s finish🔥 the perfect way to end our season on a high.

A hard-fought battle against Wienerberg that hit the nerves of our boys💜🏏

Sachin Fernando led the way with an all-round performance, first taking control of the innings with a composed 62 off 52, starting careful with help from Asela Wijesinghe in the power-play, then keeping the scoreboard moving and building momentum. Sampath Suranga provided valuable support early on, followed by contributions from the middle order helped us post a competitive 142/7👏

With the ball, our bowlers started strongly and kept the pressure on, taking regular wickets and putting Wienerberg in a difficult position midway through their chase. Sachin, Nalaka Rajapakse and Sampath picked up two wickets each, keeping us firmly in the contest🔥

But Wienerberg’s lower order showed great resilience, fighting back in the final stages and finding the crucial runs that ultimately turned the game in their favour, with few costly mistakes from us eventually reaching 143/6 in 18.2 overs.

A tough result after putting ourselves in a strong position to loosing the game, but the character shown by the boys is something to be proud of. We take the lessons, regroup, and come back stronger 💪

After an aggressive start from Salzburg, our bowlers responded brilliantly to wrestle back control of the game. Sachin Fernando and Madhushan Thilina claimed 2 wickets each, while Sampath Suranga chipped in with another as the entire bowling unit showed great discipline to restrict Salzburg to 129/8, giving us an excellent chance in the chase. 👏

Chasing a modest target, we put ourselves under pressure with the loss of early wickets. Despite fighting efforts from Sachin Fernando (41), Naleen Malwaththage (31) and Sampath Suranga’s quick 21, disciplined bowling from the opposition meant we couldn’t build the partnerships needed, eventually falling 19 runs short.

The result wasn’t what we wanted, but the character shown by our bowling unit and the lessons learned from the chase will only make us stronger. We’ll regroup, improve, and come back ready for the next challenge. 💪💜

The chase was then handled with composure by everyone including Sampath Suranga’s unbeaten 35 and valuable contributions from Susan Jayaweera and Asela Wijesinghe guided us to 116/3 in just 16.5 overs, securing a convincing 7-wicket victory. 🔥

Sampath Suranga provided the perfect support with a much needed 21, rotating the strike and allowing the innings to flourish, while Susan Jayaweera added some runs in the middle as we posted a competitive 146/9👏

After the good start from opposition team the game began to slip away, Asela Wijesinghe captain leading from the front, producing a match-turning spell of 2/15 and setting the direction of the game with his energy and fielding. Madhushan Thilina with his 2/18 and Nalaka Rajapakse with his 1/25, built relentless pressure, striking at crucial moments to bring us right back into the contest. Defending 5 runs in the final over, Kumar Nimalan held his nerve brilliantly as the boys fought until the very last ball to earn a thrilling tie. 🔥

The result may say Match Tied, but what stood out most was the character shown by every player. Every single member of the team played their part, fought for one another, and never stopped believing. A performance full of resilience that makes everyone at SLCC proud. 💪🇱🇰
