The Club KICK OFF TAEKWONDO VIENNA, founded by MASTER Eiko some 13 years ago marked the beginning of what is JIDOKWAN TAEKWONDO AUSTRIA today.

Taekwondo, which was called Subak, Kwon Boeb or Taekkyon was eagerly practiced in the Choson dynasty, which lasted until the year 1910 and ended with the Japanese occupation. Under Japanese rule, Martial Arts were prohibited alongside cultural and musical activities of the Koreans. However after the fall of the Japanese kingdom, Korea has developed one of the most powerful and popular Martial Arts in the world: TAEKWONDO.
