7 reasons how Zumba changed my life 😊💃
1. People get obsessed. First you’re hesitantly trying a Zumba class, then you’re doing several classes a week, attending community events, buying clothes emblazoned with the logo, and proclaiming your Zumba love from the rooftops. What is this, a cult or something? Apathy is way less tiring.
2. It’s not solitary. Good luck standing in the back, getting your workout done, and going home without speaking to anybody. This dance party emboldens even the most introverted to hug total strangers! Yikes!
3. Your body will betray your expectations. So much for your reliable tight hips and immobile torso; after a few Zumba classes you find yourself shimmying in the grocery store, trying out bellydance videos, and starring in the local salsa night.
4. Your clothes won’t fit anymore. Start saving now, because you may just find yourself a little leaner soon.
5. Music won’t be the same. You may find yourself doing car-eography to top radio hits, or maybe you’ll even seek out so many Latin, African, Indian (etc.) tunes that YouTube starts serving you commercials in another language.
6. Explosions of color may start appearing in your wardrobe. The standard body camouflage of black and gray eventually gives way to lime green and bright pink and tassels and bells and metallic stripes, and you might not even notice it’s happening!
7. Worst of all, it’ll make you feel so ridiculously happy. You’ll look back at all those years without Zumba and wonder what you were thinking! No one needs that kind of regret in their life.

How it all started....
I finished my Admin / PA contract in October recently where I was working for a global independent medical research institute with centres in Sydney, China, India and the UK and their mission is to improve the health of millions of people worldwide and to prevent and treat non-communicable diseases and injury.
During this pandemic I was dealing with some health related issues myself and I knew that others around me and in the community were in the same boat, what I really wanted to achieve after my contract ended was to help others, and do something that brings people together to beat depression, anxiety and loneliness and wanted to do this through lifestyle changes, fitness and exercise.
I also received my executive certificate in Events Management (Business and Public Events) with learning and teaching from qualified UTS professionals and wanted to put my studies to use and do something that I love Events, Dance and Fitness with Latin flavors.
While I was working I didn’t have time to exercise and now want to change my goals to exercise more with Zumba.
Zumba with Susie was my saving Grace, she came over and taught me one on one Zumba classes, when my work ended all I wanted to do was dance 💃 and she was the motivation I was looking for, she helped me with some of my health issues which I was experiencing and I am glad to say Dance and fitness with Susie I have now overcome these issues and I want to share this with others, I want to help the community and others combat these issues and live life happy, surrounded by like minded people and create a Zumba class where others look forward to attending and make new friends at the same time.
Pastor Darryl Soh welcomed me and my family to the Abbotsford Presbyterian Church in Abbotsford where I was surrounded by warm hearted people where it feels like a family atmosphere where we can connect with others, I was encouraged with the work they do in the community and wanted to do the same.
By wanting to help others I have created my own business where I organize Zumba events and bring people and the community together by creating a happy and safe environment.
I have been overwhelmed with the support my family, Husband (who I met at a salsa dance class) Mum and inlaws have provided and overwhelmed with the support that the community have provided and showed their support in my new venture.
I first had an idea to do Zumba in my backyard but wanted others to join as well so I inquired about hiring a hall for my classes, thanks to Pastor Darryl Soh for giving me the opportunity to hire your hall for my amazing Zumba group who is growing in numbers and thanks to the community for your support Silvana and her team from Abbotsford Family Pharmacy, Naomi from The Hub at fivedock, Carmel from Warremba cafe and the team from Inner Wheel Balmain and others you know who you are.
Go and give Zumba @ Abbotsford a try, first class is FREE and it may change your life like it did for me 😊🙏💃❤️
