IBJJF World Masters 2026

This experience has me coming home with mixed emotions, happy with my performance but at the same time gutted losing in the quarterfinals. I was able to open up and showcase some of the work I’ve been putting in and won three matches on the way to the quarterfinal. Highlights to come.

Big shout to Lincoln Hancock for all his coaching and support on comp day and the lead up to the day. Also the rest of the team BJJ Coach Troy Skidmore Brent Dry Ellen Thompson for all the help on the day and the lead up, it was awesome experiencing this with you all.

Back home a big thanks to Dave Hart and my team DOMINANCE MMA couldn’t have done it without you all

Thank you to Braus Fight Australia for the support and keeping me fresh with new gear

And lastly my partner without her support and sacrifice none of this would be possible, I’m forever grateful love you

Deadlifts, squats, dips and overhead presses are just some of the basic strength and conditioning that BJJ athletes should be adding into their routine 👌

Leading up to major comps, it can be tempting to add more weight and volume to those exercises but it can make you feel more exhausted instead. The last 2 weeks isn’t about hitting new PBs but just maintenance 💪

BACKTAKE FROM TURTLE (USING OUTSIDE HOOK)

Apologies had to do a re-upload on the video as the clips were incorrect. This technique especially when it comes to the outside hook creates space when your partner is playing super tight and heavy with their turtle.

Try it out and see what you want to see next!

Omaplata can be a tricky spot to figure out especially if your partner is aware with what’s coming next or if the angle isn’t quite right. Linking with the armbar can be an option for you especially in the final minutes of a match ⏱️
