GAME 16 - DIV 4 - TROOPER OF THE MATCH

Last night was the final regular season game for Troopers Div 4, who matched up against the Dragons. With the top 4 having already been decided (all Boondall teams), this game turned into a fight for 5th place to finish the season.

Even though there was nothing to play for, Troopers put on a great show for the packed rink of adoring fans, taking a 2-0 lead heading into the final frame. Unfortunately, stuff happened and the game ended in a 2-2 draw.

Shining light from this game, and someone who has consistently improved over the past few games, particularly after his move from D to W, was Louis. Having a ripper game on the third line, he created scoring chances with great passing, perfect positioning in front of net and hard backchecking, earning himself game MVP! Nice work, bud.

Troopers Div 4 really came together as a team as we progressed into the second half of the season. Everyone finding their feet, understanding their role and performing consistently on the ice each week. Vibes were high all season and a special thanks goes out to our fearless leader, Captain Blake who always lead by example all season long.

GAME 18 - DIV 3 - TROOPER OF THE MATCH

This is the third MVP award this guy gets. We are a meritocracy. I have only received one real life MVP photo for Miqueu and it was with a shared win along with Alex, this post is no different. He is our inigma. Our Dark Knight. Tonight I saw him shoot from the face-off, collect his own rebound, shoot again and score. I have never felt more ornamental in my entire life. I may as well have been in the stands. I should have just manned the door. I was more useful here in my room writing this at 10:30PM. ON TOP OF THIS, he was the only other to join me for post game beers. A legend, a saint, and just a better person than all of us. Well done, you truck sized, goal scoring, tertiary educated, fountain of youth lookin', multi-positional, defensive minded centre/defenceman you.

GAME 15 - DIV 4 - TROOPER OF THE MATCH

The Troopers rematch game against the Puckers was a tough battle, for many reasons - set for a middle of the night puck drop as well as Troopers having a heavily depleted lineup.

Unfortunately, this resulted in a tough 9-2 loss.
Plenty of shots were put on the Puckers goalie but he (unfortunately for us) stood strong and kept our score low.

Ryan earned himself game MVP this week by making solid defensive moves as a winger to help break up plays, moving the puck forward and making clean passes and setting up camp in front of the Puckers net in the offensive zone, despite their best efforts, they could not clear him out of the way.

Troopers are back for their last game of the season on 1st Feb against the Dragons…

GAME 17 - DIV 3 - TROOPER OF THE MATCH

This is the best photo we could get of our resident cryptid Matty. As for his performance in our game tonight, I saw him battle past 3 bodies up the boards to secure a break out successfully. He is our Thanos in the way he sees our forwards not even capable of getting the puck out of the defensive zone and gives us the "I'll do it myself" treatment. On top of this he scored a beauty of a goal with a clapper from the point. The grind and determination of this man is insane. We keep him on defense for your safety.
