Horseed FC is proud to share an exciting opportunity for our junior players. Our talented U16 and U18 athletes have been invited to trial and potentially join Souths United Football Club, under the guidance of Coach Carlos F.

Coach Carlos is a respected figure in Brisbane’s football community known for his dedication to youth development, tactical excellence, and his genuine commitment to multicultural inclusion.

His coaching style empowers young players to grow both on and off the pitch.

Horseed FC Brisbane is proud for this special Farewell Match in honour of Ciisa Aden Abshir legendary former captain of the Somali National Soccer Team and current global scout for Somali talent.

Over the past few weeks, Ciisa has been in Brisbane, QLD, bringing with him a wealth of experience, passion, and dedication to nurturing the next generation of Somali footballers.

His visit has been a privilege, and as he prepares to depart, we invite the community to join us in celebrating his time with us.

On behalf of our entire community, we extend heartfelt congratulations to Horseed FC for their valiant performance as runners-up in the 2025 Somali Independence Day tournament.

Your efforts on and off the pitch showcased courage, unity, and exceptional sportsmanship. Each match you played was a testament to your commitment not only to the game but to the values that define our club: discipline, pride, and resilience.

To the players, your determination lit up the tournament and reminded us why Horseed FC is a pillar of excellence. To Coach Mohammed Dahir, your leadership inspired a team that never stopped believing.

To our supporting staff and volunteers, your behind the scenes contributions did not go unnoticed.

Although the final result wasn’t the crown we hoped for, this achievement marks another proud chapter in our journey. We will rise stronger, bolder, and more united in seasons to come.

Somali Independence Day Tournament – grand final match.

The final clash between Horseed FC and Zone 3 delivered an intense and action-filled spectacle, marked by tactical shifts and spirited performances from both sides.

Horseed FC commenced the match with notable urgency, applying early pressure that culminated in an opening goal by Eri in the 3rd minute. 0-1
Zone 3 responded with composure and managed to level the score shortly thereafter, demonstrating their resilience under pressure. 1-1

Maintaining their offensive momentum, Horseed regained control of the match, and Eri secured his second goal in the 35th minute, allowing Horseed FC to enter halftime with a 1–2 advantage.

The second half presented a stark contrast. Zone 3 emerged with renewed determination, capitalizing on transitional moments to score three goals in quick succession, dramatically shifting the lead to 4–2.

Despite this setback, Horseed FC remained competitive. A well-executed effort from Hassow in the 68th minute headed goal reduced the deficit to 4–3, re-energizing the team’s push for parity.

However, in the closing stages of the match amidst Horseed’s aggressive pursuit of an equaliser their defensive structure faltered, and Zone 3 added a fifth goal to seal the outcome.
