Photos that tell a story-
During our first pit stop for Stella during the 6 hour, we had a bonnet pin break and get jammed. We could get one side done up, but had to tape the bonnet shut so it wouldn’t fly open.
This series of photos is the following pit stop, where Tom Donohue, Toby Wilson and I waited for refueling to finish, got the bonnet open, topped up the oil (because rotary) and successfully replaced the bonnet pin, and got it all done ON TIME for a perfect pit stop. Yes, we even removed the tape so it would look pretty on tv again.
So proud of my little crew, and thank you to Armstrong Rider Photography for capturing such a crazy moment.

I still can’t believe we ran a 2 car team at the 6 hour, and brought a brand new, virtually untested car all the way to the end! None of this would have been possible without the help of so so many people.
Our team managers Brendan, Locky and Mitch for keeping us all in line.
Our photographers Lilly and Armstrong Rider Photography for capturing every moment.
Our fuel crew Dad, Crawford, Joel and Tom who had to boil in race suits all weekend.
Our mechanics Keira, Luke, Tom, Toby and CJ for keeping the wheels turning.
And Joe for keeping everyone fed and happy, while running errands for us all weekend.
I came down with the flu over the weekend and I was so blessed to have such an amazing crew who could step up while I wasn’t able to ❤️

I also have many local businesses to thank who helped tremendously in the lead up to the event, All 4 Mechanical who jumped to action the day before we were leaving when we had an oil line fail on Stella, they got it repaired so so fast and made a stressful situation much better.
Damon and the Mad Gear Surfwear crew for stickers and team shirts, they are awesome.
Arctech fabrication for jumping to action whenever I showed up on the doorstep with more little jobs, which was almost a daily occurrence.
Ric Shaw and Jon Waterhouse for the constant phone calls for advice and tech questions, aswell as organising parts.
Sam from SSport Racing for having all the parts on hand ready for me whenever I did a Sydney trip, aswell as posting parts whenever I was in dire need.
Bec and Clay from Shelleys Takeaway Moruya, aswell as Mal from Broulee Supermarket and Cellars for contributing to keeping the crew fed and happy.

So so many more people to thank, I appreciate everyone who helped me get 2 cars to the mountain, it was such a busy few months and there were so many people who played such a huge part.

Our right rear wheel curse came back to haunt us once more, this time even closer to the end than last year.
The team did incredible keeping the 2 cars going til the end, and the drivers kept them straight and looking pretty. It’s great to finish an endurance race with 2 undamaged cars.
Both cars didn’t miss a beat all weekend, which is a big achievement with one of them being a brand new build. Gaz, Jake and Manarth were just out there for a bit of fun, but came home in 36th and 5th in class.
We proved so much with Stella, we proved we can get an rx8 onto the 3 stop strategy, we led class D more than once, we had pace, just no luck. Grant, Matt and Hayden did an incredible job and I’m so proud of them all. Sadly, on the second last lap we had contact at turn 1 that caused a right rear puncture, Hayden completed a lap but on the rim couldn’t do another so came in to pit to put a tyre on. We had the tyre on and car out of the pit box before the leaders had come out of the chase, but all the teams leaving their garages to cheer for their cars crossing the line blocked us from getting back out. He had to come to 3 complete stops in pit lane to avoid running people over, and by the time he got to the end of the lane the leaders had taken the chequered flag which meant we were deemed non finishers. It’s a very hard pill to swallow but I guess that’s the game we play.
I have too many people to thank so that will be another post, but what an incredible weekend!

Qualifying done for tomorrow’s big race. Sadly, we didn’t get the results we were expecting with lots of traffic and a set up change that didn’t pay off. We will be starting 52nd and 53rd, which is 5th and 6th in class, so the drivers will have some very busy opening laps.
Tomorrow is a new day, and the cars are re prepped and set to jet for the 6 hours they have ahead of them.
