The trials you face will introduce you to your strengths. Epictetus

It is the trials and tribulations of life that introduce you to your true warrior spirit. You never truly know how strong you are until you face relentless challenges in your life. Those challenges not only introduce you to your true strengths, but they also expose the chinks in your armor – your weaknesses.

Roosevelt stated, “A smooth sea never made a skilled sailor,” and the same goes for any area of your life. Until your skills are actually tested, you don’t really know how you will respond or how skilled you truly are. This is a fact that those in the martial arts world should take to heart.

You can train for years in a dojo, but until your skills have actually been tested in a real life-or-death situation, you don’t truly know for sure how you will respond. It is for this reason that your martial arts training should be as realistic as possible.

If you are simply training for the art aspect of the martial arts, or for exercise, you shouldn’t make the mistake of thinking that you are really ready to defend yourself in the unforgiving streets. And that is not a lesson that you want to learn the hard way, as it may be the final lesson of your life.

You need to know both your strengths and weaknesses in every area of your life. If you don’t know your strengths, you will not have the courage and self-confidence to use those strengths to their fullest potential. If you don’t know your weaknesses, you can’t strengthen and fortify them; this leaves you very vulnerable.
Don’t hate the trials and tribulations in your life; they teach you valuable knowledge about your strengths and weaknesses.

Embrace life’s trials as nothing more than challenges and lessons. Use each one to your benefit. Learn your true strengths and shore up your weaknesses, and you will come out the winner every time. When you have this attitude, you can profit by whatever comes your way. Warrior up! Solution: A Support Worker who is qualified in fitness to daily, weekly or fortnightly come to my home or workplace and assist in my goals.
